Check this out. As you can't make a directly transparent effect in LF2, you have to be creative. Give some pixels a full glow and some pixels an entirely black color. Then, gradient from full glow pixels to entirely black. Also, check this picture below:

This should show how you want to do. The transition between transparent and full colour will be smoother the shorter the transition is.
