Just a question here.. why is the light hitting his face from one side.. and then the body from the other side?
The head and the horns are perfectly proportioned... I then looked at the body. This is not meant to insult your ability at all by the way, just a helping hand.
Where on earth did the skill go? The head is a perfect 3/4 view.. half of the body seems like a face on view and the legs are pointing way too much to the side.
My wonder is did you actually do the head yourself? Because there is a serious change in quality throughout the sprite.. shaded or not. Look at the legs, if they both face that direction he won't be able to walk. One should be angled more towards the right of the character, the other how it is. I'll let you guess which is which. You see the same part of the calf muscle on each - it shouldn't be that way. Now look at the arms, overly sized (whether that is deliberate or not I cannot tell) and theres no elbow. His chest is extremely large (height wise) should it really be like this?
The way his abs are currently suggest that his stomach faces towards the screen. It should also be a 3/4 view.
I have my doubts on the head being your own work currently. Otherwise you could just be bad with proportions of the body and great with the head.
I am looking forward to seeing an improvement though. Its not like you have a complete lack of talent. So keep spriting man and you will see some amazing improvements.
Although there are many flaws in the work, I wouldn't discourage you and say its rubbish - they're just points to be improved on. My first sprites had legs that came up to his neck pretty much... so well done, keep trying.

One day, I shall become, TUTORIAL-MAN: Superhero of writing overly long, overly annoying tutorials which most people probably won't read, but will give it a stab at the first 5 lines!
