Hmm, imo, it's okay in terms of perspective as all lines, if you look closely, actually converge at a single point. Few (read: no) sprites actually have a vanishing point, so it is pretty evident that Luti pretty much took the ref and squeezed it into LF-ish proportions

See it as good or see it as bad, but it certainly features a new way of spriting. Not quite sure if it's beneficial, though xD

Also, regarding the sprite, I personally would like to see the original being more used as a ref instead of "base". Take the clothing, hair styles, etc and draw a pose different from the ref.
