Well I wouldn't really replace the fire-frames, instead you could just change a nice little next: and the problem is nearly solved.

Can't you just delete the burning frames in a char ( or will that let the game crash ? )

Try this dc code. You fall normally and lose the same hp .
Replace the originals fire frames with these frames.
