Sorry about the delay. I wanted to release a bugfix, but I decided to push myself forward. Then I had plans to release Dennis as a compensation, yet I decided to just redo my whole exe file. I then became compelled to give more for something that ran so much better. This month's time of work is what I feel to be a much better version of what I want for this project. I hope you all feel the same as well.
Beta 2 has revised Beta 1 and made a little more in-depth mechanics. Dennis, Firen, Firzen, and Bat are added.
Hit lag is reduced (not removed)
Ukemi can be done whenever you touch the ground now
MP regeneration is faster despite fewer hp gaps
A converted exe look from 1.9 is now used

- Woody's teleport to friend doesn't work.
- Dennis last kick in DvA looks kinda weird (wait, but it's my fault : D I will improve it) also there is a different picture on mirror sheet.
- Freeze's ground freeze cost 250mp? But even normal punching during grab take more damage. Change it into something like 80mp. Also he creates sword right away after thisaction.
- Whay's with first Julian skull? It's opointing in weird place, especially when he's facing back to opponent.
- Bat could move a bit more in x-axis during his downward kick.
What exactly was wrong with aerial bat summon? Hah, I could just reply via PM, but I wanted to put some life into this thread.

I don't recall messing with the teleport at all, but I'll look into it. EDIT: There is a stray character that invalidates frame 290. I'll work on making an updated release after I work on your feedback.

Must have not updated it. I wanted the animation different because it doesn't look right for Dennis to keep suddenly switching legs. I also need to make the move a little faster while giving him more range.

Just press jump. You don't need to press DvJ. I made it a high cost because it's very safe. I'll look into 200-225 or something, but I don't want this move to be spammed or else he will become OP. You can combine it with Whirlwind and do a jumping kick, which can take up to 40% of the opponent's health altogether.

I never touched that. I might as well look into that.

Easy fix.

Okay... Frame 212 is a very sensitive frame. It is used to start the jump and it provides the ability to dash when you land. I decided to elongate the jump for Bat to be able to do two different versions of Aerial Bats: The former gives doesn't give much vertical boost until late, while the latter keeps Bat in the air. When I did that, Bat lost his ability to do a dash after he jumps. I tried to find a way to make his bats not boost him high into the air while making sure the move doesn't get interrupted while landing, but that was impossible for me without tampering with frame 212. I just removed the input it as a result. If you want to mess with it, the code is at frame 280.

I need to say that Fanpai isn't the official title of my project, at least for right now. I'm just calling it Remake for the time being because that's what I want it to be. When I find the right word I want to use (and is Chinese), I'll rename the project on here. Download revision 2 here with a few adjustments and bugfixes. Anti-Davis's sprites look much more presentable now as well! Hopefully they will be updated, but these sprites will do good for now. I hope I can now work on Beta 3 with a few more characters.

I might as well say this now: I have acquired a job that will take up most of my time. I will work on this project whenever I have days off (twice a week). But I can't guarantee anything anymore when it comes to updates. Also, I'm thinking not to update the minor characters anymore if I can just get some new character archetypes such as grabbing, defensive, etc. (though making those characters playable would be good and add more diversity, their sprites are rather incomplete. I'd rather just find new characters and expand the truly playable roster to at least 20 or more). The only problem is to find good-quality characters for that. By that, I mean they don't look like a recolor or small edit. Anti-Davis is an exception because of his moveset. I've already cut a few characters that I wanted in for looking too horrible despite the interesting moveset I can make from them (Kazura would have made a great projectile-less rushdown character). Nothing is set in stone yet for this project besides updating the bosses and original characters right now. I will work on everything else after I expand the roster to 16 balanced characters (ten regular, four bosses, and two deviated clones who will serve as bosses in stage mode). I can guarantee 15, but one I'm asking somebody's permission to use. I have already messaged him but I am waiting for a response.
I have some plans for stage mode that will make it less of a slaughtering mess and more like something on Streets of Rage. It will be like 3-4 in the early stages at a time while around 4-6 at a time in the last stages, with about one more for every person playing. Something small and fast-paced is what I want for this game because it will be simple and different. I do have a surprise for stage 5 if I learn how to make separate stages load for each part. I will accommodate the helpers and add them into the enemy ratio whether you rescue them or not. Some will be FORCED; I learned how to make somebody join you when you start a stage.
If I were to guess about the progress done in my project as of right now, I'd say I'm maybe 18%-20% finished. I have 10 characters presentable (one is being worked on as we speak), an exe with drastically altered mechanics and a new appearance, no new stages, nothing for stage mode yet, no modified AI for the adjusted mechanics, and 3 songs for a soundtrack that I don't have any solid idea for (I will change the boss musics when I find better-fitting songs). I've still got ways to go before I call this complete. Whether college will make me stop is another story, but I will keep working over the summer. When I get stage 1 finished and the 16 characters, I can say that I might be around 25%-30% done with the project.
Approximate Breakdown:
10%- Mechanics (Finished)
05%- Exe (Finished)
30%- Characters (Only finished 10 out of 20+, not close to 15% with my plans)
20%- Stage Mode (Drawing board)
05%- Stages (Not started)
20%- AI (Not started)

Well, with a week off of work and time for myself, I've been working on this project again. I decided to start working on a concept I decided to call "Prime" characters. These characters play closer to their regular counterparts while still utilizing the new mechanics. Because of this, the now-called "Remake" characters will need more work to deviate from their regular selves. Thankfully, Prime characters do not need any new sprites since they are the easier characters to make.
About updates: I want to make another release soon since I don't know how much longer I will be able to work on this project right now. As I've said, this update will be more content than anything so expect quite a bit with Prime characters doubling the character size. I wish I could work on new characters, but I don't have good enough sprites for LouisEX right now, and I'm still remembering how to use Flash. I do have plans to make two characters with Gad's method once I learn how to use it.
Here are a few videos of my current progress. I will upload more videos sometime later.

Are you playing with AI? The AI have no idea how to use Remake characters to their fullest ability.

I can proudly say that Beta 3 will be out soon once I obtain and implement Henry's sprites, and balance out 'Davis to be competitively playable. The future of the project, however, is currently unknown. With Hari seeming to be busy and college starting for me in 6 days for me, I don't know how much longer I'll be able to work on this. Don't fret since I PROMISED to finish this project for my best friend who passed away last October. He got me into LF2 so I am doing this for him. I WILL NOT break such a promise I made to myself.

I reluctantly convinced myself to just give you all what I have done since school is starting in a matter of days. I endured a lack of motivation to give you all what I could do with what was given to me. The Hari's lack of communication has bothered me lately for about a month and I couldn't get a lot of what I wanted done. I don't want to replace him, but if he's too busy with his own work, I'll just let someone else help me with the sprites. It's not too much really, just a lot of edits. Anyway, I have added Deep, Louis, and Henry, and alternate versions of Louis and Davis which play closer to the original LF2 with the new mechanics. Some characters are untouched and I have a lot of junk files in there. I'm just not motivated right now to keep working on this since I can't make the characters how I want them to play without sprites.
Don't be scared to share your ideas with me about characters, especially the ones I haven't done yet!
If you want to help me with sprites, here is my current list of requests:
Rolling animation for Henry
Aerial straight shot for Henry
Upward throw for Julian
A third frame for Louis's punches to recover from
Backswing for LouisEX
The third frame of Deep's normal swings without the effects
