Character: Curly Brace
#11
While my bro and I were playing, I encountered this problem. I pressed defense and left my character hanging there while my bro was tossing boulders in my direction. One of the boulders managed to hit me but my bubble retained it's form because it was still in contact with the other items hitting it. I left my spot and the bubble continued it's rein of terror and it vigorously tapped away at the poor excuse for a boulder. We've been waiting for the boulders to break for at least 10 minutes, i don't think it's going to break :P

It's not supposed to be broken by a bubble.
This is the same issue as Johns shield and I have fixed it already (bubble will not remain without curly).

Her sprite is still not so lf2-styled. The shading and the black rim i mean. And should she have breathing sprites when using the bubble?
I just found out one more issue. Her mp will regenerate normally like other chars when she jump and run. This will be a problem when her hp is low. Her mp will regen faster and when it reach the overheat point, she will suddenly reload when we press jump ---> no fun at all if we are running away from foes.
How about making her mp get drained each shot like normal char and give her a command: DJA for reload?
And i think there should be static come out of her body when her hp is low, like other chars bleed :P

Maybe, but for now I'd say no.

Yeah, there is no smooth way to deplete it properly during these actions. But I like that it adds heat whenever you move around fast. (and as she also requires heat for the bubble shield to work, even though it does not really deplete it yet, you could say that the mp bar shows her system heat - also because the gun can overheat way before the mp really reaches a critical point: gun heat > transferred to system heat - maybe I have to change her emergency cooling animation regarding that concept)

The jump emergency cooling is there because on the alpha versions you could exceed 500mp during aerial shooting. I will let you jump around freely regardless of mp for the next version.

It wouldn't work the same and I'd have to ditch the whole heat theme. Also DJA shall be reserved for a balancing feature on low hp for full heat.

No idea how to do that right now, but the balancing feature could address that visually.

second beta

sprite updates:
  • flipping sprites
  • changed blur on running frames
  • leg movement in weapon attacks
  • expanded ice block
  • new dash attack
data updates:
  • bubble shield while cooling/drinking
  • bubble shield does not stay without curly
  • bubble shield behaves correctly at the edge
  • forced cooling for the jump button raised to 500mp (in case I want to add super jumps later, might also fully remove it)
  • fixed fall bounce height
  • faster air roll
  • standing and shooting in the air bug fixed
Please don't mind the weird super punch (dash kick), she will get a proper one.

third beta

sprite updates:
  • super kick
  • back dash attack
  • larger projectiles
data updates:
  • all custom bdy/itr areas
  • removed jump restriction (full heat), dash remains
  • new combos
  • fixed Louis' whirlwind throw
to do:
  • turbocharge (DJA at full heat)
  • super jump (dash at full heat)
  • fix creepy face
  • fix/improve aerial overheating
  • balance her
She probably won't get any more basic moves so please suggest/report what to balance or any remaining bugs and weird controls. Only consider full hp though as the turbocharge and super jump are meant to deal with low hp balance (fast heating).

- does by "super kick", you meant "dash kick", because it's still looks super weird, especially leg.
- she hits herself, while throwing a character
- really confused thing with double keys actions:
i give up, don't have a time to learn how and when exactly it's happening, but in brief: she performs move in different direction than she is standing
- also sometimes she performs run attack standing on the ground (after double keys action)

When exactly she should be able to throw a weapon? Because now i'm kinda confused.

Whether it makes sense to post here another and another beta vesions, when all the feedback that you received, is a couple of "thanks"?
Maybe just post the final version, when it will be ready?

It's the attack on enemies when they are doing the 'dance of pain'. Not the Dash Kick. It's the Flip Kick.

To be exact, there is a bug that whenever you press D while walking, Curly will hover, and then perform the Super Kick
She will perform the Dash Attack if you press A fast enough when she is still hovering.
And this bug only occurs when she has Heat.

I assume the kicking legs thigh is too fat? What else?

Sh¡t happens once you finally create your own hitboxes: fixed!

Best feedback I can possibly get. The simultaneous inputs DJ and DA are a byproduct I honestly don't really want but have to deal with. So here I am trying to master the art of turning a bug into a feature.
Details on why I have to deal with this (Click to View)

Any light weapon while running (holding direction and pressing attack), and for throwing weapons (baseball/bottle) also while dashing (just attack). And she will drop her weapon when using her gun in the air (top of the jump or second back dash frame).

I cannot replicate this, neither with nor without heat :|
(with I get the bubble shield, without: nothing)

Does anyone else have this problem?

With your own feedback you have disproven your point. Just gathering post and thanks count doesn't really help, that's true and I can't change that. But if I don't somehow keep track of my progress I tend to bite myself into unimportant details and loose motivation before accomplishing things. And why not share that progress tracking here and potentially get feedback that may speed up the process and improve my work. (my main goal now is reducing confusing stuff instead of more features that will just stack up new bugs)

I just tested her again i found out that she will do the buggy Super Kick when you press D + any button at the same time -_-
