*sigh* remember the naruto episode when kakashi, chiyo, sakura and naruto fight against Itachi?
Itachi puts naruto in a floating genjutsu and Itachi makes him believe that he is attacking him, but in reality naruto used the rasengan on the air.
Similarly with a Mangekyou Sharingan, he can make Vegeta think otherwise provoking him to blow something up due to his pride, and as Itachi will project himself elsewhere in Vegeta's mind, only Vegeta will get hurt..

well, itachi could put some blows on vegeta and defend against some attacks with the susano
but , vegeta has very strong attacks that itachi cant defend or run from...

remember when vegata was used by evil sorcecer babidi? he was able to control his self, he has his will power, he is smart and could find a way to make use of sharingan.
Remember that time when he was fighting buu? he stood against one of the powerful villains of dbz universe. remember that part in battle of gods? I am not, cuz I havent seen it yet

mind tricks might have worked on naruto but the wont work on vegeta,
vegeta just ALLOWED babidi to control him to reawaken the evil inside him nothing more.. and you can clearly see even after he got the majin insignia on his forehead he still didnt follow babidis rules but just went his way..
