If the situation is very serious, and consequences can follow shortly, then I would have no choice but to take advantage of my background and stop whatever they're doing immediately. Otherwise, I will try to be calm as much as I can until I get the chance to explain the situation to them. They're an agent of the law after all, and all they did was what they thought was right for the betterment of the community.
