(Nice introduction)
Indeed, we must begin investigation as soon as possible.

Silence! No one will benefit from all individuals talking at once.

I for one propose that this new "mfc" guy is fishy, he's not the hermit that I used to know that lived there, I think we should check him out closer.

Also 'nother thing that crossed my eyes, Bamboori is trying to divert attention from himself by using a false name at his home address. This could be worth checking out as well.

The suit of doom. Though abominably foreboding, a phrase to my tastes.

Hmm this sounds serious. Let's see what Bamboori has to say for himself.

(Nice Prologue btw. :P )

Up until now Bamboori had been standing in a corner, seemingly in thought, quietly playing his ukulele. When hearing Ramond's accusations though he stops and comes towards Ramond.

"My dear man, I'll have you know that this is in fact my real name, as it's written on my doorbell sign.
Now what brings you to this nonsensical conclusion is beyond my imagination."

He turns to the other people.

"My fellows, this is indeed a grave news. As we do not have any clues towards who those gruesome individuals are, I propose we make plans for the night. I think a team of three people in each house, with one waking guard, would be a sound strategy. That guard will however not be able to vote the next day due to a lack of sleep of course, so we should switch the role of the guard each night. I will gladly assume such a role for the first night.
Now the possible outcomes could be as following:
A) The guard is dead. If a member that was supposed to sleep is not present during day, we can assume that it was he who killed him, thus we got a murderer exposed.
B) One of the sleeping is dead. The guard will be absent due to sleep, and if the third member of the group is present then it means the guard must be the murderer.
C) Best case nobody dies. The guard might even have witnessed something of interest that he can tell us about the following day.

Any objections?"

"My dear man Bamboori - or Bamboorix, as your doorbell sign indicates - I have the greatest of objections, how do you propose do we fit 3 people into each of our 10 houses if we are only 11 people? What do you have to say in your defense?"

Bamboori waves Ramond's name-calling aside
"If you went and looked at my doorbell sign, you will find that the map is simply a misprint.
I have to admit though that I miscounted our numbers. May I suggest that one group will consist of the king and two guards?"
He turns to the king.
"Would that be alright for you, Mylord?"

"I have nought to worry about, for the royal residence is simply inaccessible for man. I believe the village should act for what they see best for themselves. You simply needn't concern yourself with my safety, but with yours, not as an individual, but as a group of ten.

The letter from the damned imbecile has done a number on me. What exactly could it mean, and how could it possibly reignite the flames of the remaining mafia group which should have otherwise dissipated or weakened with the death of its leader? Was he really only addressing the peaceful residents of the village?"

Edit: I will not post anything from this point on as the king (for the sake of the game, and since I know stuff that you don't). It's rude to address the king directly. Instead, only refer to him in 3rd person in your speech, and he will answer if he so chooses when the phase is over. I suppose the comments he made above should have been a part of the prologue.

"the strategy Bamboorix suggests, looks effective, indeed. i think we should start with it.
But, it does have some flaws:
1: what if three murderers got in the same house, by some miracle (i assume there should be three/two mafia, based on the numbers of participants)?
2: what happens if the murderers got the majority of the voting power next night due to the guards being asleep?
it will get less and less effective within the two first nights, i guess."
an effective strategy i would suggest is each person checking the person numbered after him. 1 checks 2, 2 checks 3, and so on. like this we can be sure everybody gets checked. and since the locations aren't in the same order as the numbers, travelling from one place to another could let us check anything in the way (or so i guess)
make sure to check my sprites!
I guarantee your eyes won't hurt! At least, they won't hurt too much :p !

"Hmm... with three groups we will have three people absent the next day. That would leave us with 7 members left to vote. So if there are three mafia members we can still out-vote them.
If three mafia members get in the same house, they will either do nothing or one or more will leave the house. Because mafia members need to sleep as well, we should be able to deduct which members left for murder.

I do not quite grasp your strategy of each member checking another. Could you elaborate?"
