Sprites - reaper
#21
ehm... what? "Looks more manly than girly"... You know that it should be a man, don't you? Or do you wanted to say more girly than manly?
Edit: You don't have to answer. I guess that would somehow become offtopic.
Edit: too late... Well, wtf. lol :D

Lol, I actually didn't want to revive this old thread( so many awful sprites in it), but I'm trying to get back to spriting a bit and sprite more constantly.( every time I do a new sprite, I realize that I forgot everything and have to start from the beginning again :D)
So here are two new sprites:
[Image: uploadx.png]
Not all of them are going to be that reaper- like, but I'm currently thinking about redoing my reaper-char, also because he is in the forum mod. Do you think the first one is too skinny/tall?
The second one is supposed to be a puppet master with a wooden cross they use to make the puppets move in his hand. Could be an interesting char( data-wise), too. So much to do...

aw... I hate double posting.
Anyway, a sprite intended to be a ninja suddenly turned out to be this:

I have no idea how, but I'm quite happy with it. Especially with the hair( though not as much with the pose)
Any comments/critiques? Also see last post :D

Definitely a big improvement over your previous spriting-attempts.

The reapers look a lot better than the previous version with the black background, but look at what happens when I turn pure black into pure white:

Same here:

But, disregarding the fact that they are a little messy, they are indeed a big improvement compared to your previous sprites.

As for suggestions on how one can improve these sprites:
-The ninja needs better shading on e.g. his shirt and a re-worked pose.
-The reapers need to look far more dangerous. (didn't someone post an incredibly example of a reaper in one of your older threads?)
My projects:
=> Comet - LF2 ver.1.9/1.9c skin.
=> CRE - ComboRegenerativeEnemy.

Thanks alot.
Well, for single sprites I usually don't care about the dark pixels. They mostly aren't visible anyway.
With the reaper-image you probably mean the pics BP posted. Hm... I'm going to try, but we'll see.
And yeah, the pose really is weird. I should practice some different poses in the next time.
But for now:

Finally a different pose, though obviously rudolf was standing aside.

Is the reaper looking more scary now? Otherwise I don't know what to change. Though he needs some bands as some kind of belt anyway( to make him look less boring).
But thats not making him scarier.
And the were-teddy/badger I posted in the demon thread:

no standing sprites this time, but I really need your help/ critique on this one:
[Image: uploadp.png]
I'm going to use the right one for the mod I've just started to work on and I really don't want to animate it first and then change it later. So yeah, doesn't matter whether I have to redraw it 2 or 3 times as long as it looks good in the end.
