I currently have all my projects on hold as of now...
but i am actually interested in this. I'm such a big fan of both Avatar and the Legend of Korra. I've being meaning to do sprites and animations for them for sometime actually. This would actually motivate me to do it. Thank you for posting this, it's been on my mind lately.
However, i do have to warn you. I'm not the kinda of person who can solely trust to complete this mod (especially not my own sets of fully made spritesheets)
I know you all hate me for being such a lazy bastard, but hey! ... nah i got nothing :P

please pm me more about what you have in mind. (I won't be able to do this soon, as i am on vacation for 2 straight weeks)
but please still notify me about your ideas/changes/ and upcoming feedback from other spriter(s)/artist(s that are helping out on this mod)

xD lol, now i feeling a little bad, because this mod really can be finished(?)... at least you have a chance to start work. just one thing about i wonder (really just a question, no offence), but how Blablabla and Luti can working on the same level? eventually you can find another spriter and this will be even more difficut to keep similar style.

@Blablabla: paint.net-magic wand-15% opacity, and here is effect: but you rather shuold use this only as sample and try to make somehing similar, because can't make indentical hair like mundvoll.
