I still prefer the Iceburn Cavern style. I really liked the look it had.

For the newer three I prefer the second one for the same reason as Rhino.Freak, the water is nice, although the shoreline is too straight, but I'm sure that would be easy to fix. Next comes the first one, simply because the third one looks weird. Maybe it is just because it lacks details and shading, but it simply looks unnatural.
Age ratings for movies and games (and similar) have never been a good idea.
One can learn a lot from reinventing wheels.
An unsound argument is not the same as an invalid one.
volatile in C++ does not mean thread-safe.
Do not make APIs unnecessarily asynchronous.
Make C++ operator > again

The iceburn cavern stage got weird with the fast transition from red to blue and from a "sunny" valley to  "dark" gloomy caverns.
The concept was much better however; might be better if you (Ariel) would keep the concept and reconsider its design.
