GLT ROUND5 Final |27.2.12
#51
i really dont wanna change old GLT style to absolutly another, or it should be called another name..
but:
Quote:- 250 HP-limit combo is bullsh*t
not mine idea....
Quote: DP twice and tigerdash thrice is also ballony to me
i dont initiate any limit.
GLT 1 and 2 never has skill limits, but only bugged combo was forbidden.
old GLT rules have only that:
- dont use passwords
- play only HK Coliseum
- dont use infinity bugged combos
and some default rules as start match with pressed F3
and thats only.
everything else, as i recieved messages - only players wish.
then ok, if one more GLT will be sometimes, it just will be like old GLT 1 and 2 style, lesser limits and lesser rules.
now it have no matter, cuz rules cant be changed during tournament.

ty for attantion
Just never give up

I agree with both of you about not changing the rules midway. I just took notice of the tournament and everything now, deciding to comment just as soon. It's important to discuss them, even if they shouldn't be changed miway, because in the future those are keypoints when modifying or creating a new set of rules.

I appreciate the discussion that took place. I hope all participants enjoy their fights regardless, and maybe I'll take part in a future event, should it happen.

It's necessary to limit Dragon Punch because you can just use it whenever you are being punched and win (with 100++ damage!), and Tiger Dash is very difficult to avoid, and if you defend it you will still get another hit for some damage. If this is being repeated many times, Woody can be unfairly strong too.
Limiting flute is obviously needed, Rudolf's disappear as well.

Hitting someone with more than 250HP combo is OK with me, its 250HP combo that can't be defended rather should be disallowed.

If you read again you'll see that I said limiting DP wasn't a problem, I argued that 2 times may be too few. About tiger dash, it isn't as powerful as you're saying. If you get hit that much with it, you need to work on your evasion, because the problem seems to be dodging rather than move strength.

Limiting flute the way I said makes it nearly useless UNLESS you know how to make the best of it (which isn't easy). Rudolf's disappear is basically crap, and I believe the rule concerns clones and not disappear.

@ybanan: the "can't be defended" line is to blurry to be precise. Saying "infinite dance of pain lock" sounds much better, because that's what it is in most cases (I'd dare say all).

Dennis: AA+Grab+AAAAA+DvA
Is a combo that cannot be defended (meaning "is unavoidable once you are in DOP")

So you see, there are not only DOP-locks which cannot be defended, but usual combos too.

Even though it does not deal 250HP I would NEVER EVER do this combo, if the opponent does not provoke me by using comparable lame combos. It is just too cheap for me! Sometimes I only grab my opponent and do 1 or 2 kicks then throw them away, because I would be really upset myself if my opponent always does this Dennis combo to me.

If one allows unavoidable combos which deal more than 250 damage, then one fight is in many cases only "get the first strike twice and you win". This is not enough to tell who is better.
Furthermore, the only goal a cheap opponent will have if you allow these combos is to do this one combo which deals the most damage and cannot be escaped/avoided.

Quote:Limiting flute the way I said makes it nearly useless UNLESS you know how to make the best of it (which isn't easy).

How is that difficult in any way? You just walk towards your opponent (from bottom or top) and press the keys...
I cannot agree with your suggested flute rule because:
Henry can run away all day long (believe me there are many players who would really play that lame...) until he has enough Mana and then he does the flute, cancels it and runs away again. This is even worse when Henry is at low HP and regenerates Mana really fast. (Of course, if one is not skilled enough to run away then it is a good rule, I agree, but theoretically it is possible to always run away with Henry.)

There are henry combos which use the flute the way I described. If your opponent is running around so much and still getting you in flute, I have to repeat what I said above: you need to develop your evasion skills better.

Yeah of course, and you can evade every single flute there is right? :D
You are not the only experienced player here, so please keep that in mind. Some of us are very experienced too and we have a different opinion regarding this matter and we want to limit it.

I get it, you are suggesting the old rules which in some part make more sense than the ones we have right now in this tournament and I can agree in many points with you, but could you stop acting as if we are all bad players only because we want it limited or show you a way to abuse your rule?
