They weren't just annyoing, they broke rules. Clearly.

soo? your broke rules also. Clearly. Are you banned? No. Clearly.

Well if he comes here and demands help, then he must show some respect, wouldn't you agree?
He shows respect first, then I show respect, and so on.

I do search for the old threads usually when I give replies, but if I can, they can too.
just for record.. your first post as you clearly stated there, you lurked on the forums for quite a bit before joining. SO YOU GOT ADJUSTED like a clock on session change. Now imagine really new newbies who just registered there, because they saw lf2 and official fan forum. They have no clue about anything here. They need some time for it.

He's not evil, lol. Just careless. Which still doesn't mean we have to be super-nice to him.

Well, idk what has "respecting yourself" have to do with anything? Are you implying we loathe ourselves? :P
oh so you were one of those guys, who bumped into little kids so that they drop their ice-cream? how very nice of you. I hope you never consider taking care of children until you change your opinion about that. You would ruin them.
No, but respecting oneself equally leads to respecting others. Only when you respect yourself, you can respect others the right way.

Well, they have to read the rules, how are they supposed to function in a society if they don't?
If I am a newcomer and start flaming all over the forum, are you going to tolerate that?
That is a big deal, I'd say. And they are not some special, exclusive rules...they are basic and logical.
it's like saying to a little child: "Duh if you don't stop being childish, you are leaving home". Should i tolerate you doing that? I don't think so.
Everyone starts small. If they violate the rules, they get warned. If they don't learn from it, they get banned eventually (due to warning level or other reasons). That's all there is to it.
That's why the old peepz like you get warned as strictly as newcomers. Cause everybody is equal here. HECK even i can get warned from Bp for example.

should totally allow people to be all trolley on their birthday :D

I'm here for 1 year, and I didn't broke as many rules as them in 2 days. Please.

Stop defending them please. Reading the rules is the minimum a newcomer has to do, if he can't even do that, then idk what to say.

My god, are you serious? Bumping into kids? Stop making stupid associations.
Anyway, if somebody is careless, one has to correct their mistake. But not by doing the work for them and supporting their carelessness, but by alerting them of being careless, which you mods are supposed to do.

I don't complain about getting warned, do I?
I was just saying breaking rules can't be taken lightly and saying "meh, it's not such a big deal". Especially if one does that multiple times in a short period.

In your opinion, if someone is careless, the mods should alert them about the things they did wrong?
So why is that even your business then?

It's not my business, but if mods for some reason don't do that, then it becomes mine and everybody else's business.
Though backseat moderating is forbidden now, and thus it can't become my business.

As I said, I will report posts from now on and won't alert the members anymore.

so that makes you superior? Some people just need more time to adjust. Also I'm talking about newcomers in general, not about those twin bros. As you might have noticed we warned them everytime they did wrong.

Stop defending them please. Reading the rules is the minimum a newcomer has to do, if he can't even do that, then idk what to say.

Sorry for showing human heart. I will discard it when I'm done with your stupid arguments, oh wait that will never happen. You just keep 'em coming.

oh now that is stupid for you? so your arguments are so much smarter? Oh and yes that's what we do..
and thats only a quarter of the first page.

nobody says that. Why do you think we have so many mods? We are not taking it lightly. We are discussing certain things before they even happen. Sometimes i think that should be open public. Just so that smartasses like you could see what we are actually doing.

1. It doesn't make me superior, I just don't know why you chose me as a comparison.
2. darn it, how many times do I need to write this? You are a moderator. You need to enforce the rules. You can be good and benevolent, but in the end, you must warn/ban/lock/delete because that's your job. And if you don't think reading rules is important, why do we have them then?
3. The link is dead :P
4. Yea, you might want to do that. Maybe you can gain some credibility by doing so.

EDIT:
Ok, now you convinced me. Keep it up.
Just another question though, I see warns are set to expire...where's the point in that though? One can just wait for his warn to expire, and then break rules again -> his warn level never goes up.

we can set how long it needs to expire.. so some like the black twins only need a a week or so to get banned, so its fine. its up to us how critical this rule violation was. Oh and if the warning level would not decrease people would always see the bad guy in you, even though you might have changed ;) ~ Phil

ive read and heard this several times now - and it is and was always my own view on that too

how about adding this to the rules:
no permaban/long term temporary ban during the first two weeks after the first activity/post - also add this note to all warnings during that period (so the user knows that after that time he should have gotten used to following the rules)

careful there that doesnt sound like what you seemingly want to represent

go for it - but only make things public that are already resolved

@Marshall - im kinda sorry your attempt got turned into a rule discussion once again
quite the opposite of what you wish isnt it?

@Divisor - thanks for standing your case without being too stubborn to not be convinced that moderators are doing their job
i hope noone will have to hold a grudge because of this - that would be gainst the intent of this thread

you have lead me to an interesting thought. I will bring it in discussion asap.

agreed, I was a bit too heated up.

I'll have to wait on Bp for that. But thanks for the input. That has to be discussed.

This idea sounds quite useful for me. Ofc only if applied to a "stupid, but not intentionally-evil" member. (Which should affect the most people we're complaining about)
Though (may) one week would be far enough for people to understand the basic idea of a forum community.
Guess the exact time would be up to the admins, completely ^^

Though the rule should include an exception (may not necessary, as it's the admin's job to decide how to use/interpret rules either way) in case an trollspammer signs up to massively spam the forum for the sole purpouse of annoying people.
Je, this probably won't happen... But IF it happens i will link back to this post XD
