Basically.. I want my Batman character to not only be able to throw batarangs.. but summon them as a weapon as well...
So I basically re-made a boomerang.. problem with that is that it only went half as far as the actual boomerang...
the real problem and topic is how do I make it go faster? or what properties makes it chase the enemy?

Assuming u're using type 3, you can use dvx: something dvy: -ve something at the start to make it go up and further, and hit_Fa: 3 to make it chase (without stopping it from falling in the y: direction). On frame 60 (?), u can make it transform into a boomerang weapon. Also, you need to have frames 40 and 44 for the tail animation thing (could be invisible). Check out jan's chase for this. mainsite has an example for john as well.
Assuming u're using type 1, i'm not sure if hit_Fa: 3 would work properly (weapon might chase and never land on the ground, i know it won't land on the ground for hit_Fa: 1 and 2 (strange behaviour)).
for type 2, u can use hit_Fa: 1 and 2 coz it'll chase, but it'll land on the ground.
only thing is with all these methods, it won't have the "fly, pause and spin, fly" behaviour that u get when u throw a normal boomerang.

I had it at type 1 and hit_Fa: 3 since the boomerang is already like that and it works fine but is too slow.. i added the hit_Fa: 1 and then it kept going till it hit something however it hovered just barely off the ground instead of maintaining a upper body level height. When I tried hit_Fa: 30 just for "giggles" it went fast and far but lost its chasing abilities

He meant adding it in some kind of "starting frames", not in ALL frames.
Because if you add dvx everywhere it will, as you noticed correctly, disable the chasing effect and just go straight to the right... or left (when shot facing left)

I added it to the first throwing frame is which frame 40 it goes faster but when it comes back to the left cause it past the enemy eventually it hits to the right again..
so i changed the loop from frame 55's next to frame 41.. this however only speeds up the beginning and then it goes back to normal slower speed

what you could do is setting a special frame when the boomerang turns around and speeds up again.
