Need to decrypt LF2 CE

Hi everybody, I'm having promblems of reading LF2 CE file (*.dat file). I hace tried a lot of DC tool. But I can't read it. Does anybody have a tool to read it ! Thank a lot !

You just can't. It's encrypted and there have yet to be a program that can crack it open (curse you Marshall).

i think Marshall encrypted the DAT. files to protect the dcing from getting copied into another char or mod...

All the people who know how to access them, respect Marshall and his decision to encrypt the DC files. I doubt you'll find anyone to help you access the files here.

Excuse my intrusion in data changing matters, but I have been wondering, the encryption of the data files was to prevent other people from copy/pasting the work (stealing) or to hide certain data changing techniques from other modders?

Prevent stealing. I'm sure Marshall would be happy to disclose the dc tricks behind specific moves if someone asked. It's to avoid people C&P the entire move/character, making minimal changes and then claiming it as their own.

also if those dat files weren incrypted every one would keep using those moves, which wont make them unique any more.

Silva pretty much said everything. The point of the mod was an amalgam of the then "awesome ideas", so there's no advanced DC involved Can view it as a documentary of sorts really. However, copy + pasting is really easy, hence the encryption is to prevent people from stealing If certain people want certain pieces of code, they will need to ask me personally so I can track them down to see if they gave credits to the original dudes. Hope that makes sense.

1) they probably don't share my vision. One person's "better" may not be "better" in my eyes. Ultimately, I did spent a lot of time during this "compilation" process and would like it to go in a direction that I want it to as I originally envisaged

no, because I did not do it. It is actually someone called RaMMicHaeL who did it for me as he understood what values I stood for.

These days, there are many ways of encryption anyway. Some even choose to hide all the files in the exe itself...
