=============================
Hi everyone !

I forgot LF2 for a couple of years, and I founded it in my computer a month ago. Now I remember how fun playing LF2 was.

Anyway, I'm bored with the original characters, so I’m trying to create some new guys.

And there is coming my first one: Matt the boxer:

I hope you like it.

In few words, I want to create a fast (and heavy) puncher, definitely a deadly melee fighter (with no long-range moves in order to balance his powers).
Above all, I wanted it looks like a true LF2 character, not just as a fan’s imitation.

So, please give me your opinion about the design of this character. Does he look like an original little fighter?

I look forward to seeing your advice Shock

Have a nice day/night everyone!! =)
(I’m not an English speaker, so forgive me.)

Welcome to LFE.
The sprite looks good, hope to see more from you real soon (gifs of him animated and in action will give us more to work with to see what we can expect in terms spriting quality).

I guess you read Hajime no Ippo xp ? Anyways, sprite is nice, but little big? Maybe he should be little smaller so he would look like ''original'' char.
Might be back, might be not :^) anyways awesome to see you guys again!

lol, Actually I practice boxing for 3 years, this motivates me to do this character...

You are right, he is bigger than the others. But smaller, he looked too skinny.
I will fix it later, but now I want him to move ... That's giving me motivation.

Nevertheless, this is more complicated than I thank.. In LF2, characters proportions are weird o_O

thanks guys for your replies!
I'll work harder ;)

I think it would be best to change the name because http://lf-empire.de/en/lfe-fileplanet/characters/371-matt

Anyway the sprite is great! You said you wanna make him fast and now he is at the size of Mark and Mark is slow so you need to make him a little smaller like Whaat said.

This project would be great since I only saw a boxer char once and it was for Hero Quest, and that makes him a first for LF2. Good luck on finishing this guy!

No for me don't make his smaller.Let him big,I think he looks better big.If you make him smaller, then he doesn't look more like a strong boxer

Good grasp of shading and detailing. Very well done for early on work, I am most impressed :D. The sprite itself is actually, fairly cool.

However, there are a few minor errors, which can be fixed at anypoint. His arm (outstretched - your right, his left) seems to be angled weirdly or bent at a different angle to humanly possible without sustaining a grave injury.
His bicep is slightly small, especially compared to a rather muscular tricep that you seem to have drawn (note on this point, make that tricep more angular/square and less rounded - gives the muscular appearance rather than flabby, also could make it end a little further up than the elbow). It needs a little lengthening. However it is in the right position for a straight on jab, or the first frame of a hook.
The lower part of the arm, elbow to hand seems to be at the wrong angle. It seems to horizontal, too side on to fit with the direction the rest of the arm faces. It needs or rather should have more of a 3/4 view on it, than that side view. Tiny bit more shading on the inside of the arm and glove, to give it that 3/4 appearance a bit more and it should be done.

All in all, not much to criticise, I'm VERY impressed. Well done.

Looking forward to more work, as Marshall said
One day, I shall become, TUTORIAL-MAN: Superhero of writing overly long, overly annoying tutorials which most people probably won't read, but will give it a stab at the first 5 lines!

Good evening everyone!

I finished this morning the sprites of the first punches:

Now, I'm drawing the super punch: left Uppercut. (Heavy right punches are only for special moves)

I'm impatient to start DC. I want to see him blowing up bandits' heads ^^. but firstly I have to finish with spriting...

As RtXas said I will find a new name for my character ... maybe Marciano ? ( (Tribute to ...) )

(Plus: I updated the first post of the thread with a big picture for more details)
