Well executed and sweet colour palette, great level of detail as well. The brightness off the bandages on the legs takes the focus away from the torso of the main character, though. I love the wolf/dog with the scarf, and how its colours resemble those of the main character's. Concept wise, nothing special, just a bandit and his wolf/dog (or wolflike dog if you like :D).
tl;dr, a simple idea with an acceptable composition executed beautifully.
A bit off anatomically. The shading is ok, but the shapes feel a bit off. I do, however, like the simplicity and composition off the colours: One coherent palette, yet a distinct area for the pet (green) and for the champion (skin tone). The whiteness in the pet is a bit too eye catching though, and it also looks a bit physically misplaced relative to the main character. There is almost no interaction between them, they could as well be separate sprites.
Not much detail though, considering the size.
tl;dr, great, simple concept with interesting "colour zoning" but not too well physically realized.
The dynamic off the pose strikes me, great interaction between pet and main character. The sprite also utilizes colours to draw the eye to the relevant part, i.e. the eagle and the masked man looking back at him. The palette also looks very coherent, even though the dirtiness of the yellow colours is a bit much.
The colour of the beak of the eagle doesn't integrate well with its surroundings, and the organic textures (feathers, hair) are not very well made.
tl;dr, beautiful composition with a coherent palette, but some colours don't interact very well and the organic textures don't look too great.
A messy sprite without any clear interactions between the characters. The shapes and anatomy are off and the shading is inconsistent. Textures aren't captured well, either. The colour palette is one off my favourites, but the colours are mostly randomly splattered about.
tl;dr, nice colours but not high quality concept, composition nor spriting.
Well sprited, I personally didn't expect a spritejob this good from Reaper, but it strikes me as dull. The colour palette doesn't provide much contrast and the fire eagle doesn't look like it has much off an own will. The interaction between main character and pet in this sprite is minimum as well, it looks as if they have been sprited separately and the main character then was pasted onto the eagle. The concept is a bit cliche' but nothing too bad.
tl;dr, well sprited but boring colour palette and composition.
Once again, the pet and main character look like they have been sprited seperately. This is further emphasized from the shading style and green eyes off the cat, which can't be found in the main character.
The shapes of the main character are off, and the anatomy as well. The face doesn't really look like a girl.
The use of spot colours is great in the main character, too bad that this isn't present in the cat. The colour palette itself is nice, but I don't see any pattern in leading the eye through the sprite using the colours. Closing words, great hair.
tl;dr, well chosen palette for main character but bad shapes, and an inconsistency exists between main character and pet.
I love the concept, a random eskimo riding a giant wolf. The sprite doesn't feel very well planned though, and the eskimo looks like has a different perspective than the wolf, which makes the wolf look flat.
The colours don't feel consistent at all, and the light source feels hard to spot.
tl;dr, nice idea but the sprite doesn't look very planned out and the perspective is off.
First off, I don't understand why this sprite has so big dimensions: It could easily be scaled down substantially without losing any important detail. Furthermore, the concept isn't original anywhere. The shading could have looked good at a smaller scale, but this large scale just highlights the lack of detail.
The shapes and textures are good, and I love the quirkiness created by the hair in front of Annie's face.
The colour palette isn't consistent at all between the characters, and they don't interact.
tl;dr, a non-original concept and no interaction at all between the characters. The detail/scale ratio is too low, but the textures and shapes are well captured.
These are only my opinions on the sprites, which means that Apoc also has a thing or more (preferably more, though) to say about the sprites before we crown the winners. If my critique comes off as harsh, try to ignore that it is a human who's typing the opinions:
Anything bad I say about the sprites is directed at the sprites and the sprites only, not the spriter behind the sprite.
Any miswording comes from my head not being able to handle many thoughts and tabs at once.
So, uh, I will soon come back to announce the winners! (Unless Apoc does, but it's the same thing... My spirit will still be within his post *gloria*)
