i think someone first deleted sky and clouds on picture with lawn, wrote digit, turned to 3d and placed new background behind it.. also reduced opacity on text so it's kinda trasparent....

I think this person wrote "Digit" on this bg with a program.

@up
I don't think he/she deleted sky and clouds as sky and clouds a are still there behind letters.

^What Daymio means is that he took out the sky from the original picture and added a new one. And if you look at the top of the hill right below the "D", you'll see remnants of the cutting process. And the letters wouldn't be behind the hills if it was one single piece.
Font looks like one of those you can use in Word. I bet photoshop has them as well. I don't think the light on the digits would look like that simply with reduced opacity. Some fancy effects or some sort of special blending mode maybe? Anyone with experience?

1 step:

the sky was cut out/ deleted of the original picture. just type "mountain highway", or "landscape highway" or something like that in google and you'll find similar pictures to that. the image is in layer 1.

2 step:

another sky image was added on another layer (behind/under layer 1)

in addition it seems the "artist" of this picture seems to have messed around with colour alternatives/levels, opacity and/or layer options

3 step:

as it can be clearly seen that the sky is also slightly reflected on the 'digit' font, the author has probably used either some kind of layer option (like multiply) or played around with the transparancy.

4. step the font...well honestly the whole image looks like crap, the font is horrible and everyone could easily notice how wrong the 3d effect looks on the 'g'. Nevertheless the author either played around with one 3d modeling programme, microsoft word, a downloadable font or another programme to get the 3d looking effect. concerning the quality of the overall picture i highly doubt that the author is capable of working with a high complex 3d modeling programme. concerning the 4th step the author probably pasted in the 'digit' where ever he or she got it from on the layer inbetween the foreground (lawn & highway) & the background (the sky) and added some kind of effect or transparancy on the sky layer.

hope that helped ;)

I would definitely not want to know how that pic was made cause it really looks like crap. With ps you can make a 3d text but the result would be a lot better than what I can see in that pic, that looks like a bit free transformed normal (2d) text and then with the 3d effect drawn with the brush tool.

@everyone above: why bother?

how about you at least try to make it yourself? This is no request-forum and I am sure you know that.
So do me a favor and try out your stuff for yourself for once. Don't worry if it is crap at the beginning, you will never improve if you don't even start. In other words you are ripped off your independancy as you have to rely on our courtesy, which we obviously don't have as you might have noticed already. So don't let others live your life, live it yourself!
