I don't know. It's kinda hard to do it without exact blur.
Maybe add another white-like effect instead.

Nah. It's ok for the beginning to test char-making with ready sheets, or just edited ones. Nobody's blaming you about that. You're just not good enough YET for making full-playable characters with your own sprites. In advance you can try recolouring Davis, Rudolf, or any other original character, adding him something (like changing head, or giving him an axe or a special glove). It will make your characters more interesting and more people will decide to download it and test, so you will know what people do or don't like about your character and what do you need to change in next project.
