Does anyone know what program to use to make your own icon for LF2?

You can also use IcoFX: >>Link<< I believe versions 1.6.4 and below are free. You can do a google search for them if you want.
Age ratings for movies and games (and similar) have never been a good idea.
One can learn a lot from reinventing wheels. An unsound argument is not the same as an invalid one. volatile in C++ does not mean thread-safe. Do not make APIs unnecessarily asynchronous. Make C++ operator > again Trump is an idiot. 
Use any art program (except paint) and name your extension file .ico (at the very end)
i would definitely use gimp.
