[solved] Order of Walking frames
#1
?
Just wanted to ask if you can change the order of the walking frames...

The usual is in this order: 1-2-3-4-3-2-1-2...

I want to have this order: 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4...

It's just that the walking sprites for my new character doesn't fit with the usual frame order...

Pls. reply, thanks! ;)

are you sure that the default order isn't 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4? (or, in the original, 4-5-6-7-4-5-6-7)

Because I believe that it is that way...

And... why in the world would you like to change the walking sequence?

well could you show us your sprites in question so we can try to think of a way that makes them fit onto the lf2 cycle
cause i dont know how you could simply change it

first of all hes right - and he wouldn have any reason to post if not
and second the original goes from 5 to 8 :p

possibly because his animation cycles instead of going back and forth?

wow thats a hell of an ugly fellow

heres what to do to make him work on lf2 walking frames:
-make frame 3 become frame 4
-patch the old frame 2 and 4 into becoming new and fitting frame 2 and 3
the result could look like this:

and you might want to redo his whole sheet because there are some ugly black holes within the sprite (replace them with something less black before pasting it onto a black background)

Well, he's the boss of my LF2 Doom Mod... Twisted

It seems that sprite editing is the only solution...

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it! ;)

to tell you the truth, that depends of the ID you gave to your character,
the walking frame sequence depends on the ID you gave to him :P

i really dont know which ID have which walking frame sequence
but, you can try changing the ID ;)

I really hardly doubt the walking is ID-dependant. Why? Well, I doubt marti wants to code different walking sequences for different chars and actually I never had problems with it,

but elseway: is this solved or not now?

It's actually quite simple, if you understand it.
Go to the Data changer and go to the walking frames.
It says after the 4th step
Next:3
just replace the number with the one you want to put it in.
for example, you want 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4
then put it in
Next: 1
and then that should be it!
Insert witty comment here

where the heck do you see a next: 3 ?
there is always a next: 999 in each walking-frame because if you simply put the next walking-frame into next: ,you wouldn't be able to stop walking :p
