Wats wrong with ur old account? And why would you want to make a new account? If its just a matter of changing your user name, then I guess a pm to an admin can solve the problem.

What exactly is wrong? If it is your password, I support you making a new account. The MyBB password change system this forum has is very messy and hard to work with. I had it once and after making a new account and requesting here, MH changes my password and emailed me. Now it is absolutely alright.
