Gaara can use sand in any way he wants (defense+offense).Is the Kazekage,for crying out loud.
I'll admit he's slow,but he can use his sand to "fly".(Make a block of sand,stand on it,control it to fly)

^ have you even been following the manga or anime (both are past the following already) he has no longer the sand demon, and ever since naruto beat him in the orig. naruto series (or earlier in the manga) he has been getting so much cooler than he ever was.

Crocodile was one of the Shichibukai in one piece. Those are people who once were pirates but so powerful that the marine offered them a position in their ranks just to have them under control. Crocodile however is a b*tch, definitely. He has the san devil fruit, so he can turn into sand, or rather he basically is sand as he is a logia type, which basically is equal to the elements in Naruto. Don't make assumptions if you don't know the character, either research or don't talk about it at all, it only makes you look worse in front of those who know the characters.

To rephrase my previous statement:

Gaara:
Can Control every sand there is (even without shukaku, the one tailed beast inside him)
Gets shielded by a sand barrier, thanks to the undying love of his mother which he gifted him as she died at the day of his birth.
Can fly thanks to sand control.
Is able to shield many comrades at once and even attack the enemy at once, all while surviving on his own too.
Can Seal somebody with his sand.
Can swim :P

Crocodile:
Is made of sand and can use it to fly
Can use all sorts of sand attacks
Is weak to water in general and can't swim


So basically Gaara wins by a long-shot. He can control the sand which is basically Crocodile itself. Also he is protected by the sand itself, so i am not sure if Crocodile could even attack Gaara

I should have known that you would appear and make a stand for everyone who does know nothing about those animes/mangas.
So here goes my response, how I think Gaara can win:
He can control the sand that is Crocodile into a sea or just alot of water, then crocodile drowns.
How does this work? I have to get a bit nerdy on that:
In the One Piece world there are devil fruits, which give you a certain power like being the sand itself, or fire or lightning etc. but make you unable to swim AND make you like an anchor in the water, you drown fast and can't do anything about it. That is the reason why Gaara will win, he can control the sand, so crocodile would have to fight him in his human form and would not be able to use most of his attacks.
Second Reason why i believe Gaara will win is the fact that he gets protected by his motherly love (which is in the form of the sand), we don't quite know how this works, its kinda like magic in a world where magic doesn't really exist, but because of this I doubt that any form of sand would be able to attack Gaara.

Don't get me wrong, I like both animes, and like both characters to a certain degree, so I am not a fanboy of any to be honest.

So if Gaara shoots what's supposedly Crocodile into the sea, can't Crocodile then just transmigrate into any other sand that is not in water? Apparently Crocodile is the sand itself, so... I dunno, it shouldn't be a problem for him.

What I find interesting - if you can call it that, talking about super powers, hah - is how Gaara's protection, which is based on sand, would conflict with Crocodile's powers, he is actually the sand itself.
