Public tutorial "The way I animate sprites"
#11
My way of doing sprites (atleast how I prefer to do it.)

Each Frame from a scratch.

1. Draw one frame outline.
2. Drawing 2nd frame outline from a scratch and continue same with the rest of the frames.
3. Checking the outcome, to see if its smooth enough.
4. Coloring the frames.
5. Checking again the animation, to see if its smooth enough.
6. Shade frame.
7. Also you can check all frames after shading one part.
8. The outcome. [Image: oTmI4pN.gif]

+
...You get more experience in animating by drawing each frames from 0 (some may take need just edit)

-
...Takes some time to finish but outcome looks good.

Other ways which I prefer not to use.
Copy paste is not realy good way because you can easily overuse most of the details and it may look halfass.
Copy paste mostly does not looks natural. Some parts looks strange unless you edit them.

feel free to post yours.

Thank you Simoneon for moving this to tut section.

i dont see any point of that thread...
animating is general subject
as gad said
(09-15-2013, 05:19 PM)Gad Wrote:  i animate frame by frame if that helps
u dont need to try explaining more about that subject cuz there is no much to discuss about it
u only make frame by frame

if u want to make tutorials in that subject i would say write about those:
-how to use a specific program (probably for beginners)
-how to sprite (not much to say for that)
-how to draw a dynamic pose

after u know how to use some painting program, know how to sprite and your poses are dynamic
thats enough for animating

if u dont get it than-
open program > draw dynamic sprite > make new frame > draw dynamic sprite > make new frame > keeps on untill u feel its done

ehh?
You dont see?
At first it was a disscusion but then was changed to tutorial.
I think some would like to know how others animate, its same as like they asking how to shade.
Gad said, yeah he said, so?,
I believe he is more of a troll now than staying on a topic. Made frame by frame huh? Amazing, that helps a lot.

Whats the point of making another tutorials?
Why stream your sprite progress or why to make tuts which shows how u shade, detail and stuff?
U see, some people copy paste, some draw from a scratch, some found another way.

Actually this things helps me.
I always thought ppl just "free transforming" some parts of body in different ways.(then change details like inclination of the body etc. in "spriting way")
I might try that, your outcome looks good. :) but you're skilful indeed.

I would say consistency of shapes and flow are to be noted while animating but mainly flow at first place . i draw layer by layer and do what blue said .the thing is you need to have a clear idea of what the character does. The rest comes with experience.i am still a poor animator and also I cant draw and post samples as i am using a mobile. Bye again .
a.k.a firzenx or X.

I'm sure you all know how i do it (Click to View)
A sequence of variables thatre engraved since the beginning of the cosmos is responsible for animating things in reality

Quote:Gad said, yeah he said, so?,
thats not the point that gad specific said it... -_-
the point is what he wrote, i think its true even if it meant to be a troll

Quote: Whats the point of making another tutorials?
to teach
thing is this tutorial dosent teach anything
cuz animating is too general-if u want to make ur animations better u should read about those:
Quote:-how to use a specific program (probably for beginners)
-how to sprite (not much to say for that)
-how to draw a dynamic pose

Quote:Why stream your sprite progress?
so ppl can ask me whatever they like, critic me, give ideas
generally "work together"

Quote:or why to make tuts which shows how u shade, detail and stuff?
shading unlike animating is a subject that u can explain it and there is alot to discuss about it
tuts about shading teaches u how to understand the light to know where it hits ur object
example for shading tutorial:
unlinke shading tut
in ur 'animating' tut u just 'teach' how to sprite again in each frame aka "animate frame by frame" -Gad.
about details-
there is no "general detail tut" cuz in each painting u draw different details
although same as animating
if u want to make a details related tutorial there are alot of subjects u can write about
but not on the general "detail" subject
see this: http://www.deviantart.com/resources/?order=9&q=details
each tutorial talks about diffrent details in diffrent objects
u can write a tutorial about detailing a face but there is no much to write about general detailing

Quote:U see, some people copy paste, some draw from a scratch, some found another way.
yep ,not much to say about that but:
-ppl copy paste whenever they already painted this part of the sprite
-ppl draw from scratch whenever they didnt already painted that part of the sprite
