Btw I know LFE since very long time but I never registered.
Many things like "body lying" are made explicit to avoid the escape.
If the characters are graphically basic it is because of my lack of time, I am fully aware of visual problems it imposes.
That create even a lot problems and it bothers me too.
-STAGE-
But I disagree regarding the stage and gameplay. Characters all have their particularities and they are balanced.
In stage mode you just need to think a little, and don't take a fiery character in ice stage for example. The last boss of 3-5 is a hard ice controller. When you knock back her, she use a hard control who ice anybody. Just need to take a ice character. Anyway, it is better to start the game easier .
I'd can be a video for those who are interested and find it impossible.

Then for combos, just being able to hit people in the ground made sure to have plenty of opportunities.
