Zabobula's Compositions
#1
This is a instrumental composition I put together using FL Studio 8 Producer's Edition. It was inspired by Requiem by a Dream written by Clint Mansell and performed by the Kronos Quartet.

Tell me what you think of it here:

Wow, not bad at all.

Didn't listen to all of it, listened to the first minute, then just parts.
It does get kind of repetitive sometime, do you think you could put a kind of variation into the song? Like, a different tune and melody for some short time or something like a solo... (or did I miss such a part?)

Go on do more stuff.

I'm starting to get into making orchestral music. But I realized FL Studio is only good for looped music. A friend of mine introduced me to Ableton live and I'm gonna try it out.

True. But at least you have an overview with the pattern system.

When I do my remixes, I have a lot of different patterns going... so if you don't want to loop that much in FL you could either lengthen your patterns or use an uber-extra amount of patterns (I do both)...
But yeah, good job on doing something creative.

I want to get that Essential Instruments Collection for better quality sounds. Soundfonts arent that good at all.

I personally find it to be rather boring. The violin or w/e riffs/strokes that are in there are rather cool at the start but it just seems flat; more eccentric patterns would be more suitable imo. Else it just kinda retains that dum dum dum for the entire song and doesn't really go anywhere, like some sort of mix of classical music and techno. I'm not too fond of classic music like that done in a digital manner unless it's incredibly intensive and elaborate, and even then I'd expect more than the usual instruments, but that's a matter of personal taste anyways.

Else it's pretty good, make more.

..On another note, are you thinking of keeping to the classical music genre or are you considering moving about in various ones?

Edit: Oh and music suits the Arts Board more than General Discussion, so moving it real quick.

Here is another piece I did before Carpe Diem.
I made this when I was writing G4FCII. I thought about Noir's transformation where he gets the dark wings, hence its name:
