Your very first LF2 steps

Just finished the poster (revised it 4 times x.x). Nao suffering from serious jet-lag, so maybe next time :P

I remember, that for quite a long time I just switched id's to create new attacks (which was kinda cheap, I know)

but still cleverer than my initial methods XD//

and the forum I started posting in has so many... well... let's call them... poor educated DCers, so it wasn't a really good information source.

Other than RD, are there any others?

One day, I got my first compliment from an admin, yes, it was you, Marshall! You told me that I already know my stuff pretty good, and that gave me even more eager to learn everything about DCing

Here's mine!

Well, i opened the game folder...___

then I discovered that i can't open the datas with my editor, so I googled it how to open lf2-.dat-files...
so I discovered LFE and downloaded the DataChanger.
Then I read the whole LFE-DC stuff and my head was filled with lf2-knowledge.
Then I tried my skilz out...first I made totaly overpowered chars with 500 injury in the punch-frames and was happy with them,
till I was bored of and saw, that a good char isn't good because he can kill every enemy with 1 punch.

Then no contact to LFE for a long time(internet-problems). I made a version filled with flying overgod-chars which have a bdy in the lying frames. A VS-fight lasted 2-3 seconds...
Then I made some single chars. That was when my Internet was repaired. I uploaded the single chars. (overpowered julian and stuff like that; ask lauli, he knows what I mean) Then I got some realy destructive reviews and got angry. Then my Internet broke again.
After a while it was repaired, but I totally forgot LFE.

I rediscovered LFE 1-2 Month ago. now my skillz increased a lot. I'm making better sprites- And I hope to lern from my misstakes, thats why I wanna have lots of reviews; I'm still learning.

I discovered LF2 through a CD attached to a (crappy) magazine years ago. I just played it at first, but at some point I think I googled it and discovered the old ezboard, but it was abandoned already I believe, never bothered signing up or anything, since it wasn't very nice in the first place. Due to the whole email thing I didn't really discover much besides a handful of rather crappy edits, + I was mostly a leecher anyways.
At some point I found RoboticalWorld, I believe I signed up there just to leech off the downloads but I'm not even sure what nick I originally used, hahaha. I believe somewhere around that time I found LFE and started messing with data changing myself a bit. I think after ages, I started visiting the guestbook of the german LFE part frequently (quite honestly I don't remember why I did that fsdgs), and once the forums were reopened (danethical ones), signed up there and was all retarded, and at some point joined the official lf2.net forums >>; . That was around 2006 I believe.
After that I don't quite remember but I think I was still noobish queer in social aspects, but at some point I figured it out. On the LFE forums I opened up random projects that weren't decent, I think those were two characters or something including that woodyhead on firentorso thing and a bunch of other sh*t. Only ages after that I believe I released some sort of decent stuff and previous to that time I also joined other places such as Game4Fans (as in the newer RoboticalWorld) and so on. Never really had much of a good output besides releasing Eigen and Jae last year, 2007.

Ever since I've mostly ditched LF2 (I do still have some stuff lying around actually, that I might bother completing) and went over to other things. I've still been moderating the old LFE forums, quickly dropping activity and then ending up ditching the place. Then when MH decided to rebuild the forums I helped set it up so it wouldn't be destined for failure like the last one, and this is now >>;

..So yeah it's rather brief and grim, certainly don't like looking back at some parts, but yeah

I started LF2 when I was 6 Years old, (I´m 13 now)
I bought a magazine called "Screenfun" and on the cd was lf2 1.71.
I didn´t understand the game and the language, so I left the game for a while, then later a friend of me played that game to and we played together, soon I found out that there are special attacks and not much later I knew all attacks. Then I downloaded lf2 1.9 and finally could understand english^^. Later, I got icq and I found lfe & the apocalypse clan. I trained myself very hard, and I became 1 of the best in this german clan , we fought against other clans, and I teached other player how to fight. But then I started with data changing, and I gave up fighting..

My first chara (I was named LF2-Freak at that time^^) was Supermax XD, u know max, the copy from tiger? I changed the colors blue and added a lot of overpowered attacks XD. Later I worked with many others like Reinforced-Master, Serij, DarkZorro or Badboy. I often done the data, and I get better and better in D.C

And finally I registered in the LFE-Forums with username LF2-Freak^^ , and I can say, I loved this community , So I stayed till now and I won´t quit ever

i like reading stories :P esp from the "old" members. ("old" here means experienced enough in lf2 to know what they're talking about).

i'll type a version of my story (not many~ if any, people are really gonna bother reading it but it's just fun (i think anyway))

here we go:
first saw the game near the end of 2005 (came home from school and saw my brother playing it, i think one of his friends told him about it). I chose louis coz i liked swordsmen (and according to my brother this guy's a knight) instead of Deep. anyways, soon after i discovered Little Fighter 4 world. Downloaded a few characters (they were really crappy) but since they were "new" i thought them cool.

first try at making my own character: put henry sprites in template punching sprites and i thought template will shoot arrows. lolz. and i tried putting firzen's firzen cannon move sprites in it as well. obviously didn't work.

next attempt at making a character: replacing all the sprites of one character with megaman character sprites. I actually completed Deep with Protoman and Freeze with Megaman (battle network style). Then i also completed davis with Megaman X4 sprites.

next: discovered LFE, and i was like Wow. so u actually configure a character through data. course, before actually opening a data file, i thought the data changer was something where u choose the sprites, and press the input and the character's data will appear. (that's how my VFM idea came about). So anyways, learnt the basic code and had my share of overpowering Freeze by making him do an ice wall (facing: 100 of freeze column). Then played with hit_Fa: into henry's arrows so it chased. i don't think i did injury: 500 things though (weird).

i never did stage/background dc (so even now i won't be able to code a decent stage/background) but i did read about their tags and functions. (i actually learnt what the cc:, c1: and c2: tags did by looking at the Neverwinter Eye background, i didn't even look at the bg dc section of LFE then).

then, joined official forum in april 2006. thought mgccl was the pro guy there coz of his post count =S. course, i posted heaps and so i got a quite high post count kinda quick, but this has decreased majorly. Anyways, i did a number of weapons that fall from the sky. if u all remember, there was
Bob-omb (the real bad version lolz, the LFE version's much cooler)
Barrel (it's still hosted at that groups.msn thingy), basically it grabs a character that comes too close and shoots him really high and explodes.
Bandit and Knight statues: (the ones that u punch enough and it spawns the bandits/knights and hit them with an itr state 18 thingy to lower their hp).
gong: hit it and everyone on the map goes into DoP

all character statues: (remember the self damaging objects? (as in when it opoints something, that object can hit the guy that opointed it) that was an accidental discovery from this thingy)
remade gong to fit the statues.

next (actually somewhere in between making all those weapons), i think i downloaded hamachi and got pwned by neo (aka xfx). here began my career of fighting.

then, ce lf2 appeared and somehow or other apparently i got the job of doing the video (lolz i didn't remember doing anything that made me qualify for the position). was fun actually (coz of all those combos to do).

then, forum mod came along. i remember my idiotic sprites lolz. (i tried spriting before the forum mod then it came up and heaps of ppl joined). those 15 sprite deadlines were gruesome. lolz Marshall showed his dark side.

oh btw random point in time somewhere here I remember i tried to mimic Kim_bo's sig and then heaps of ppl came up with their own random copies XD. course, we all were noobs at making sigs and some of ours looked like they were done in ms paint.

oh and somewhere before the forum mod started Sinow pmed me a "sketch" or something (it was coloured so dunno what term to use) for a basis of my char's face pic. it was approximately when i did that whirly card rain move (here's where i learnt about hit_Fa: 3 and 7). then when the forum mod started, Kim_bo pmed me a pencil drawing for the basis of my char's face pic, and i used that one instead. course, without that one my face pic would've been like #$!@ ugly.

since the forum mod kinda died, i became mostly a fighter, and also did that kalsiddon input holding dc thing. that was about the end of last year/beginning of this year.

this year, i kinda stopped lf2, except for going to the forums, playing against my brother, and some casual battles against scribbz.

then, 3~4 weeks ago, my computer studies teacher gave my class a space invaders tutorial just before the school holidays (i.e. last day of term). now, i've been working on a little fighter 2 remake. I did think of changing it to a new game last week or something instead of a remake of lf2, but i think i'll stick with lf2. it's coming along bit by bit (and great help from chiko on heaps of stuff, and silva for the random chats so that i'm not bored while programming it :P).
