data workstation is really good, and helpfully but i get a problem :

if i click x/y the proggy freezes ! (and if i´m waiting long, my pc freezes and then i must shut down)

the other buttons like itr , bdy , etc. work , but the x/y not !
i have the newest java version , so i hope you can fix that !

EDIT: hops, yinyin already post that problem , sry!

Instead of calculating areas myself, I can just run the program and get visual feedback :D

mockup image
that layout is mainly aimed for characters/objects, still a lot to refine and think about
i hope to animate/'record' a few features and button functions - how i think they should work for easy use
and perhaps also think of a neat solution on stage and background data

@Alblaka and no one - bitmap not working problem
may I emphasize again, the FM only works properly with 24 bit bitmaps. 8 bit ones usually don't work due to restrictions in the java API, that's why it doesn't load properly. I may be able to fix this if there's a free imageIO java code thing that works with indexed bitmaps somewhere.

from the chinese forums, they mentioned that [ctrl] + [space] is one of the hotkeys to swap from chinese to english, so I'll also be writing something to allow you to select your own hotkeys.

But (and this is a big thing),
I just had my first taste of a full day @ university today, and I'm flat out tired. I'm taking the accelerated pathway programme, which means completing a 4 year (honours) degree course in 3 years, which pretty much cuts into my life except weekends. (5 papers in each semester instead of 4, and one extra paper + 400 hours work during summer holidays (starting next summer (winter for ppl in north america i guess))) so, progress will be slowed (since i started until now, i was pretty much free 70% of the day so i could code a lot).

I'll fix up the bugs, but from now on the features won't pop up so fast (the frame maker bridging wasn't easy believe me D= ). also, will be very nice if someone would like to help do the reference info (pm me if you're serious; I'll reply if I think you are capable).

So you cannot load LF2-Sprites...

Nice, a LF2 Workstation without the possibility to work on LF2 sprites.
That could be a little disadvantage maybe... [/sarcasm]

At least it looks better then the old data changer :/
