Just a small hint from my side: do NOT use fully saturated colors except if you're aiming for a comic-like style. From my own experience I can say that saturation values between 0 and 75% work best, special things like explosions or the like can be fully saturated. But in general, refrain from using those colors ;)

By the way it really helps if you study elements in real life, look at trees, bushes, etc to get their shape right :)

hm... I don't think that I used fully saturated colours, but maybe still too much.
Anyway, another bg. Unfortunately I ruined the perspective( two vanishing points isn't normal LF2-style .D) but it nevertheless turned out quite well.
Background of the bg is missing, I will try to draw my own clouds for that.
Btw: Do you also draw things like the moon just with a brush? I can't imagine doing that.
btw2: test my char. Again made some changes, but as nobody tested the last version, you won't find out.

Well.. I like the last one more.. except, like bp mentioned, the perspective of the house is a bit wrong ^^..
unless u wanted something like this?

But if u want to create the 3d effect, it need to be more like this.

u see, at the end of the house the front isn't shown. (Don't really know how to explain, but u get the picture ;))

:D slow reply. And yeah, as I said, I made the perspective wrong. But I also gave a wrong reasoning.

But seriously. I am not posting to answer that perspective-thingy. After a long time( had to write my story which still nearly isn't commented at all) I started spriting again. Somehow not a bg( although there now is this great tut of Alectric), but a standing sprite :D
Haven't done a male sprite that is worth to mention it, so it probably isn't really perfect. Made from scratch, but I had woody beside him to compare the proportions.( not dennis, although it may look like it.)
As I haven't practiced much, I probably have the same problems as before( mainly shading), but I am glad that my first real try after weeks of abstinence has become quite good(You could also see this as a "I am back" post). He only lacks a bit originality but anyway.

Btw: I guess I will get more answers on this in an hour than on my story in two weeks...
Btw2: I know, eyebrows are too light. Noticed it after posting and i am too lazy to change it + must go off.

Most members have a reading-phobia. Obviously and sadly.

Anyways, you got a quite..... different style going on. It looks quite nice, honestly. In terms of lf2-styledness it's probably a little more strange. Overlaying it on an lf2-sprite you'll notice that your legs have gotten quite thin. That's basically the main point. You could've used the shading a little stronger, especially in the hair (where I can't see any highlights). Rest is really nice ;)

Just realized that I have never tried to make a face pic
Thank you BP for your tutorial/ walkthrough.
I somehow got addicted to the sprite I posted before. Maybe I will turn it into a char? Haven't done a melee char up to now. Of course after correcting the mistakes.( Btw: @BP: He is too thin in general, also his body.)
The funny thing is that the "darn easy" hair shading and the outlining( now THAT should be easy) went a bit wrong. Have to experimentate a bit around to get that right.

Was a bit difficult because I switched between GIMP/photofiltre very often, because I can't work with GIMP, but sometimes I have to.
