[23:24] <@BluePhoenix> I should do a BG
[23:24] <@BluePhoenix> I feel like it right now
[23:24] theme, bp?
[23:24] @BP, if you make something water related, maybe I can animate it
[23:26] <@BluePhoenix> I feel more like doing something with mountains and vegetation
[23:26] <@BluePhoenix> don't have a big clue, really

Yes, I'm not mistaken ín the section, I actually made a BG. Marshall was about to post his bg "Relinquo Exuro", and I was like: "dang, I want to make something, too".
So here we go:
A fairly quick project, fully painted with a good load of DC-awkwardnesses. Enjoy
Download: > here<
Facts, tasty facts... - Width: 1500 pixels
- Z-area: medium
- Parallax scrolling: Yes
- Dynamic effects: Yes (ghosts appear and AI gets scared :P)
- Thanks to: Marshall, YinYin

Let's be honest... The previous BG releases by BP were more of a middle-of-the-road-affair. Despite BP being one of two of the supreme lords of LFE with his top tier DC skillz and mad 3D artworks. But his backgrounds were... you know, painfully average, sub-par, nothing more than standard backgrounds with the odd quirk such as dynamic effects which is not particularly pioneering and lacked the punch that some may be looking for. Nothing really atrocious though, but not really something to wet your pants over either. But not this time... Spirit Trail promises to totally rock your sox. Just check out the BG man and you'll realise it's something that you can't help but approve.
BP has pulled out something nothing short of putting himself back in the frontrunners of LF2 modification.

someone said a while ago we need more simple bgs. and there you have one :P
seriously, i dont think that every bg needs a heap of details or animations. look at lee on road. is that bg awesomely detailed? or animated?

It's not that you look in the background awesomness and detailness while you play against enemies, it's rather distracting that way, too; so in my opinion, Bleu Phoenix did a great job on this.
Thumbies from me :3

I love it, BP.
The graphics aren´t FLYING-LASER-SPACE-ROBOT, but the addition to the gameplay makes this one of the must-have custom backgrounds.
The ghosts should appear more frequently, though.
The average match only lasts a couple of minutes.
(Can anyone post a link to the background someone other member made some time ago? Foggy Forrest or something. It features the same kind of technique/ghosts)

likes - the way the mist goes through the trees and over the mountains - connected over several layers
- the color tone
- the ghost
- that little flame
dislikes - the shading style of things in the background (trees and mountains)
- that weird edge/cliff between walking area and background
- the ghosts boring action once he gets you
- no paralax inside the forest
- relation/perspective between forest and mountain - the forest is rather roughly cut off and far below their ground you can see mointain tops

YinYin was detrimental in convincing BP to actually add ghosts into this background i.e. adding the excitement factor
basically....
Marshall: BP, you need some ghosts in there to freak those noobs out there, ya know?
BP: hmm... well.... actually.... ummmm....<= this certain BP was actually too lazy to move his arse around just to satisfy the irrelevant foxy
Marshall: Why don't you ask YinYin?
BP: YinYin, should I add ghosts?
YinYin: Let there be ghosts
BP: kayzness <= and there was ghosts
In a nutshell: no YinYin = no Ghosts

You'll have to admit, if I didn't add those ghosts, I'd have been done 2 days earlier :P
@ all the others: cheers for your ratings, I appreciate them!
but if no ghost = not so many positive ratings ~ Marshall
