Agree with chase on that one. Would be better to smash it into your other thread.

Also, even though it's called "spriting from scratch", it doesn't forbid you to put an original sprite next to the painting-area. It's some sort of hybrid-solution between spriting with a base and from scratch. You might want to try doing this first before drawing everything from scratch

lutichris helped me with the hair part he gave me tutorial.

Looks pretty nice, but his upper body is longer than his lower body which looks weird.

Also, try making him a bit 'thicker'. Don't shade him like he is fat, but just make the dude a bit broader.
I like the shirt shading and those bands around his waist
