With a right explosion-like sound it would be perfect. Then maybe some dark-purple-light-brown dust around him (not like henrys one)
Opointed several times and slowly fading away.

According to the colors of your character, you should make it more some sort of moraine, color-wise it would fit better

Well, I think that a sandstorm would be unrealistic, because he is only
at places where sand is. And there aren´t many stages with sand.

But you could make, that he does a move where he dries up an area of
the stage where the enemies can´t move so fast or he does an earthquake to knock all enemies wich are on ground.

There are so many things with sand and bottom, it´s no must to make
a sandstorm. There are so many other chars with whirlwinds.

Who said he can't summon the sand by himself ?
Characters like walter summon water for example by themseves, too ... Or Freeze ice

or he does an earthquake to knock all enemies wich are on ground.

yes like the ufo and alien thingy at lfe where the big explosion leaves a crater after detonating ....
something like that plus the stucking effect with an earthquake final and wolla kewl move:P
