Point System?

How's about we get a point system for the forums? Like we get points for posts that we make here (not in the FGs) and those points can be used for things like, special fonts for our display names, custom rank names, increased avatar and signature sizes, increased attachment limit, and other things like that. Good or bad idea?

bad, all those things (except the ava size limit) should be already available even if you have post count: 0

I think this will be too chaotic (g4f had some moderation problems). At least, i'm against the increase in avatar/siggy size, attachments (you won't need much anyway), different font colours for names will cause problems with different themes. etc.

Nowhere :P
Only certain user groups can change the title, and I'm pretty sure that you'll find out pretty fast who these groups are :P

I'm actually against all these suggestions, I'll give you a few reasons:

• special fonts for our display names ~ needs a plugin (if it existed), will look chaotic, font depends on Forum Theme
  
• custom rank names ~ too long names cause a little stretch of posts, can cause confusion especially among new members, chance of abusing feature
  
• increased avatar and signature sizes ~ stretch again, longer loading times, people without broadband speed will wait long until everything is loaded
  
• increased attachment limit ~ sure that you'll need it? Post jpg instead of bmp, for example. Way more efficient.
  

So yea, and, speaking of another point system, when I look into Azzy's profile box next to his post, I must say that it starts getting full :P

Personally, I think the only ranking system for the forums (not tournaments) is time spent online--can we add points based on that?
