I guess the majority do not have problems with the blue or red background. You are the first one who's whining about it.

I will give you a sincere advice:
Relax, otherwise you will get a lot of trouble here.

go >here< and look at the bottom right corner. See that "Other Options"-box? Yes? Then click on the drop-down menu under "Board Style" to change the blue to something else. And no, the backgrounds won't be changed. Keeping it as simple as possible (yes, we are FAR FAR away from keeping the thingy simple but yea, there's also a lot of stuff in the other direction). BG images (taking characters as an example) will make the board way too colorful, decrease easiness of reading, and increase loading times. And, IMHO, it just looks childish.

Yes, I agree with Blue Phoenix. And, BG images will look overspammed. I have seen it in another forum, and that was not good at all. This neutral look allows you to not get distracted by the background and it is not as dull as a plain background.
Basicly, the post content is of more value than the background, therefore it should stand out. The different colors would draw peoples eyes to the background, not the actual post.
