Molebox (Problem)?
#1
I just got Molebox and I tried it out on LF2. But after I zipped up the whole folder (sprites and everything) LF2 crashed when I tried to select a character.

I tried to pack only the .dat files and it worked, but when I tried to include the .txt file it also crashed (I think because it couldn't read the data.txt).

I recall Molebox being able to pack in any type of file. Is something wrong with the program? If not, what type of files is it able to pack?

NTSD is a LF2 mod, that is also moleboxed, but the broken weapon, etc, data.txt and one file more isn't... other all are, so you shouldn't molebox those i think :D

Just don't molebox data.txt, temporary.txt and control.txt and you'll be fine.

Can the sprites be moleboxed? (Sorry I don't have NTSD :D).
When I moleboxed the entire thing (including sprites and all the txt files) the data.txt worked. But after I excluded it, LF2 crashed. Why is that?

zxcv had put (a) control.txt data.txt etc.dat and temporary.txt to a data folder.
and an other folder named "other" are the sprites of template and the template.dat .
and if you read the data.txt of ntsd , zxcv named the data folder to "chars" and then the datas are there or so , maybe !
(couldn´t find attachement in quick reply)

btw , could someone create a tutorial for moleboxing , many people needs that !! (like me)
i couldn´t find if there is any . sry

edit : yeah , now i know how to molebox , it´s pretty easy , you molebox every thing like sprites and so on , but NOT data.txt , controle.txt , temporary.txt and ( i think) etc.dat . you have to put them in a new ´data´ folder that you must create .it´s working . it´s pretty cool cuz moleboxing zipping it and so the datas will be compressed , but ... the background musics hears a littlebit nerdier !!

There's a reason for the txt-files not to be moleboxed. control.txt and temporary.txt, for example can be changed without touching the files directly. If you set the controls, the exe will write the inputs to control.txt, thus modifying the file. Same with temporary.txt. During loading it'll constantly be modified (data-content of each file, in case you do not know). I can't imagine anything being done to data.txt, tho, but it won't kill you if you don't molebox that one ;)
Sprites and data however isn't touched, so you should be fine moleboxing them.

Why in the world are suddenly all people wanting to protect their stuff?

if we molebox the data.txt , the exe in loading , it doesn´t load all chars only 3 or so . so we have to molebox that like the temporary and control txts.
and whats with etc.dat ? i didn´t molebox it , and it worked !
anyway , it´s not only for protecting , it´s for compressing too .
(cuz i still didn´t find a way to shrink my sprites without losing quality)

whoo , moleboxers yeah , moleboxing is fun :D

Also, after what happened on NTSD (with the result producing so many naruto mods from the original NTSD data that we're all sick of it), it's hard not to feel a little paranoid :D.

you can molebox them as long as they are in the data,
ok this is what you do to molebox, if you are using pro this is the method i use.
step1: open molebox
step2: click on (project options) and select the the exe that you want to molebox the datas and sprites to and under it you see another project option were it says which exe you want to molebox the files to
step3: click on (Configure packages) and add files by clicking new and were the file is ( you can't molebox things that are in the sys folder you have to move them to sprites desktop were template and sys are
and then just put on the description like sprite for the folder sprite an example, if what you want to molebox is in the sprites folder.
step4: when you are done with them click pack and a little window should appear telling you what file do you want to pack and you just have to select the files, and click enters and it should molebox them

....and if you don't get it just mail me and i will send you screen shots of how to.

am sorry if i didn't explain it well but it's the best i can do
and any way i have molebox pro full version ,any way am still looking for members if any one is interested in just mail me
