[DEMO release] LF2 Achievements

achievements in LF2?
possible or not?
good idea or not?
i wasnt sure where to post this, maybe dc, maybe hex
i have a few ideas, (but only one i can actually incorporate and make)
i can only make this one happen.
Achievement:
become Firzen (doesnt need description yet) what i thought of doing was when freeze and firen combine, it shows text box say something like 'congrats, you got 'become firzen achievement!' and put an oid for the sprite in his arctic volcano, but to avoid the achievement everytime you press D^J you make an exact copy of firzens D^J move and change the numbers of the frames. Voila!
BUT
heres the probs, you can get the achievement with cheats,
it will show it each time you combine.
i cant think of a way to make a sort of separate menu that shows your achievements and make them so you cant get them twice...
more probs, this is the only achievement you can get with DC
here are a few ideas to get the mind flowing

1. Become firzen (already mentioned)
2. finish stage mode on expert
3. finish stage mode on crazy
4. kill 1000 bandits
5. (for mods only) use your characters secret move
6. survive 10, 20,...etc. stages in survival mode
7. complete stage mode only using template
8. maybe a few exploiting the games bugs like louis's mid air stop
and davis's D^A move when getting hit so he goes FLYING high
9. maybe a few like defeat bat, louis EX, firzen, and julian.
10. become Louis EX
11. play ball! (hit a baseball with a bat back into the thrower)
12. (as firen) set at least 10 enemies on fire with one fire ball
13. catch julian and throw him!
14. kill 100 enemies with a weapon
15. go a whole stage without drinking from a bottle
16. (with rudolf) transform into julian
17. (with john) heal 20 allies (is that how you spell allies?)
18. stop a julian soul bomb
19. catch a knight and throw him
20. bare hands (dont use any mana through a whole stage)

thats all for now, think i can do more than just ach.1
i may be able to do these:
5,9,10,13,18,19. thats it, but i might add a nice touch to the game

ill give these a go, but i want to see other peoples solutions and ideas for achievements.

BTW, i do know that some of these are impossible to do.

Well the Idea is very good but, I really dont know If anyone would have the time to make it **looks at himself** and some are just incompetent...
If at first you don't succeed, you're probably not going skydiving again.

Nice ideas, wonder how well they'll go. You know, the more things are required for doing such a competition, the fewer ppl will join.....

2&3: I think, the enemies have a different amount of hp in those two modes. And then, >this< method is quite helpful ;)
4: if you plan to do something survival-like, you could do the following: add an itr in the bandit-lying-frames which will hit a weapon (as you can set weapon_hp :P). After 1000 of these hits, the weapon breaks. Requires to change a default weapon & broken_weapon.dat+sprites (where the sprites will display thingy). Ofc, I'm assuming that every bandit will be killed by one attack.
5: In stage? add an object whose itr/k: 8 will be hit by a special bdy in the hell-move-frame
6: starting-sequence: giving the information. After stage xyz, another info will pop up that you finished the stage. (and now it will kill you Twisted)
7: Template will need a special bdy in some of his frames. After Julian, there will pop up an object (itr/k: 8, width: 99999, special height-layer, zwidth: 999). If it hasn't been hit, it says nothing, but in case you used Template, the itr is responding and gives you the info-box ;)
9: similar to 7.
11: JW-LF2 has a scenario like this. Sorry, I'm too lazy right now to describe :D
12: a bunch of itr/k: 3 and bdy's chained together will be necessary. REALLY hard (ranging into the impossibility). This ---> Hex.
13: interaction between throw_lying_man-frames & Julian's falling-frames needed.
14: similar to 4, but requires a little more elaboration.
15: are they still lying there? :P
16: special bdy in Julian.dat. Rudolf will opoint an object in his transform-frames that will react if Julian is the transformed char.
19: similar to 13.
20: every mana attack has a special bdy which will make another object react and thus canceling the competition.

I guess, he meant, that you get the achievements as a forum user if you can show replays of that situations, not implementing them into the game ^^

thanks BP, truelly a wonderful help!
now i will consider some of these and will give them a go
(bit disappointed with the firen achievement though, that would have been cool...)
i will release them (hopefully) when i can actually get them to work!
i do know what you mean with the jw2-mod, i will give it a go.
1000 bandits would have been cool too...
with the catch julian & knight thing, i just might make it when you catch them because im not that good with advanced DC.

these are just meant to be fun, add a bit of glamor to the game, and make it a little bit more interesting (hopefully) and some of them are a bit lame, like become firzen, become louis ex, or stop a soul bomb(which i might change to henry's D>J arrow), but they are just to have a bit of fun, and there is not that much possibility in lf2 for achievements.

quick question, how do i make the achievement sign come up and stay within the view the time it exists? do i have to make it follow the player or something?

i havent done a project for a while, i am looking foward to finishing it!

I would recommend, that you copy&edit the "Move/Wait/Come" taunts... The dats for that are in the etc, i think...

Quick answer: opoint an object running with state: 9997 (makes it visible everywhere), like come/move/stay/I join you. Following a player would be either itr/k: 8 or by using the pet-method (which would be kinda useless for what you're trying to do =P)

#1 how bout Achievements on Survival Mode? like the best on difficult (not the contest one though)
#2 Captured Bloopers (funny moments) ex. hiting Louis with tiger dash 3x - no effect??? LOL
#3 On Hamachi, online playing skills will determine who is better ranked?
#4 Surviving best online players because of ranks? :D

Can u implement these on the game and it'll be posted on record on LFE?
just like the recordings, i guess...?
