The shading looks good for a biginer it's just on his right hand form our view looks like the top is shaded instand of bottom.

oh really good but the left arm (from our view) looks a bit weird.his skin needs some shading but his hair is awesome!

I like the 2nd sprite hair style also i really really don't like that yellow scar on his eye
It kinda ruins the whole face, replace ur characters face with the 2nd sprite
