The thing I find the most intriguing is the fact that it can produce 3D Images without the need of the glasses.
I'm really looking forward to this, finally a new portable device from Nintendo. Honestly Out of the "DS" Series I like the original the most, the others break way too easily

Watch out!
It is NOT capable of creating 3D images and effects like f.e. a 3D cinema.

Instead it just "acts" like it is using a 3D environment with multiple games that actually are 3D instead of 2D games.

It's, and this is proven, NOT possible to create real 3D effects without the user wearing something (f.e. glasses), since the 3D effects bases on both eyes seeing different things... which is impossible on a single screen.

Ye, i saw that trick before and it actually does work...

But honestly, you can't keep your eyes like that for longer then a few seconds without taking serious damage ^^'

I don't know what to think, but hopefully they'll come out with some kind of unseen or creative technology that really does deliver what it promises. It was on E3 and that feature was meant to really steal the show. But I've yet to encounter any reviews by any of those who've tested it, on the web. But hopefully it is as they say
Edit: Oh and I hope it doesn't have hinge problems like the ds lite. Hopefully it's got the durability of the original (I was tripped over on the road and it was in my hand, I landed on it and it grinded on the floor for about 80cm, without breaking. It only received a few scratches but other than that it was fine)

I do believe it is possible, but I doubt the effect will be as promising as with the glasses.

They say that the screen is 800*240 pixels where there are reserved 400*240 for each eye.

Who knows. It might just work.

you do realize that one screen that polarizes at adjustable angles could display pictures that you can only see from a certain angle (thus producing images that only one of your eyes can see and then switching to the other)

your distance to the screen and how far your eyes are apart is crucial - thats why its adjustable, theres a slider on the 3ds for this

Well, I'd say 3DS would be interesting, but would probably tire your eyes out really badly. However, I don't really think 3D is suitable for portable platforms.

your eyes gets bad if you excessively watch those 3d movies (not that you would right? no?) even though its not the same as the 3ds
i agree with oliveryungo, 3ds maybe be great cos its something new but heck i wouldnt to mess around with my eyes even if i don't have to do anything.
