but i think you should also colorize or change the hue of the character sprite - if you look at deep, louisEX or others you can see that their weapons, faces, hair, everything is in a red/orange color

is that brush standard in photoshop or did you download it from somewhere?

also how about showing how to animate the whole thing
where to correctly put the lines corresponding to the first frame so it looks good when the character actually burns animated
