In photoshop CS3 for the animation - delete the black background for each image with the selection tool
then remove the background layers. so the only layer visible is teh image with no black background

on Gimp right click on the layer you want to have transparency
then click on...
layer >>> transparency >>> Add Alpha Channel
select the background
and then delete
also it gives u the option (when adding a new layer) to choose if u wanted to have the background in black/white/or transparent
~have fun :P

just set the bucket filling tool to "clear" mod and the tolerance between 5 and 10 and clear the black bg with a click on the black part... that's is for ps

It's solved,i guess,if Sonic don't has other questions.

@Sonic
Change the tittle of this thread,to something more specific, like: "How to make transparent bg?", or "transparent bg in sprite" etc.Because it help us to know about topic since when we read the tittle (tittle has functin,it is helpful).

Also check sprite forum rules:
MH-Razen Wrote:3. Please use descriptive topic titles - Or at least, use tags. There were countless instances of "my sprites" in the old Sprites forum, so don't go using that, please.
Just think of tags yourself or something, if you wish to use those!

Here is what i got while making the background transparent.

You should only have this with your sprites:

What i think you did is merge your sprites to a WHITE layer instead of a transparent layer, then you didnt use a low enough tolerance for the magic wand selection.
make sure you have a blank empty layer at the bottom.

How did i pull each of the frames off the gif? Im a Demonic duck that knows the blackest of magic not even used by the most evil of sorcerers. I'm a duck, why shouldn't i be able to use it?
