Triple Jump?
#1
I'm starting a new char (see the sprite thread here) and I'd like it to have a triple-jump ability, where you would press J once to jump, again to do a frontflip, and a third time to float. Can someone help me with this?

your honor fobids that? That sounds a bit weird ...
Its just a bit coding, nothing more :)

To the triple jump.

Simply c&p the jumping frames 2 times, and link to them with hit_j ...

lol, that wont work, the char will "stick" on the groun if u use a hit_j in the jumping frames or sth like that!^^

btw, I never look into other codes than mine--- that would be kinda......have no words for it, but it would suck me off, if sb looks into a dat-fil of mine!
(gonna encode my LFU-files!)

Why would it? It's just another jump frame; exactly like regular inf jump.
It should work.

Actually... I'd do it the following way...
In the jumping frames, note a hit_j: 350 (or some frame that isn't used yet). This will lead to your flip-move, sort of that:
Code:
<frame> 350 flip
pic: 999  state: 15  wait: 3  next: 351 dvx: 0  dvy: 0  dvz: 0  centerx: 39  centery: 79  hit_a: 0  hit_j: 0  hit_d: 0
#frame property stuff
<frame_end>

#other frames for flip

#last frame for flip:
<frame> 359 flip
pic: 999  state: 15  wait: 8  next: 212  dvx: 0  dvy: 0  dvz: 0  centerx: 39  centery: 79  hit_a: 0  hit_j: 360  hit_d: 0
#frame properties
<frame_end>
If you don't press the jump-key in the last frame, your char will go to the jumping-frames again. You could actually define another frame so that your char won't have the opportunity to do a second flip, like that:
Code:
<frame> 349 no_flip
pic: 999  state: 15  wait: 5  next: 0  dvx: 0  hit_a: 0  hit_d: 0  hit_j: 0
#frame props
<frame_end>
just copy the pic number from frame 212...

well, then, after that, what kind of floating do you want? I'd take the easy one if I were you....
Code:
<frame> 360 float
pic: 999  state: 15  wait: 5  next: 0  dvx: 0  dvy: 550  dvz: 0  centerx: 39  centery: 79  hit_a: 0  hit_d: 349  hit_j: 0
#frame props
<frame_end>

OR you can use Windmill's levitation, which looks much cooler ^^

Code:
<frame> 300 flying
   pic: 63  state: 15  wait: 1  next: 301  dvx: 0  dvy: 0  centerx: 39  centery: 79
<frame_end>

<frame> 301 flying
   pic: 63  state: 15  wait: 13  next: 302  dvx: 2  dvy: -2  dvz: 2  centerx: 39  centery: 79
<frame_end>

<frame> 302 flying
   pic: 63  state: 4  wait: 1  next: 303  dvx: 2  dvy: 550  centerx: 39  centery: 79
<frame_end>

<frame> 303 flying
   pic: 63  state: 4  wait: 13  next: 304  dvx: 4  dvy: -2  centerx: 39  centery: 79
<frame_end>

<frame> 304 flying
   pic: 63  state: 4  wait: 11  next: 305  dvx: 8  dvy: -1  dvz: 550  centerx: 39  centery: 79  hit_d: 999
<frame_end>

<frame> 305 flying
   pic: 63  state: 4  wait: 27  next: 304  dvx: 6  dvy: -2  dvz: 2  centerx: 39  centery: 79  hit_d: 999
<frame_end>

little thing to revise, I'd start out with dvy: 550 in 300 to ensure a full-time-hover-effect ;)
and, yes, it does look much cooler :P

If you add 550 there you'll just keep floating upwards... Without it you'll keep floating up-down-up-down without fail.

oh, wait, actually it shouldn't make any difference, since there is already a dvy: 550 in 302...
Never mind then :8
