Hello our fellow LFE members! I am here with a question which would probably clear and improve some things that I'm struggling with. I'm posting this to you all first, before discussing with other mods, as I think this needs an input from the whole community.
Lately we've seen a number of discussions in various topic that I wouldn't call "intellectual". A high number of replies consists of only a few words, which express only the feeling but not the reasoning. The problem here is simple - if we disposal that kind of posts, suddenly there're no more posts left.
LFE has always been a place where one word posts are instantly disposaled, at least as far as I remember. But the paradox in my eyes is that we don't have enough of the "intellectual" community to afford trashing all the not so smart posts. After seeing how other forums handle this I've come into conclusion that it is not necessary to disposal all the small posts, ie "cool, well done", etc.
Although I'm asking for your opinion on this, as I don't want to be one sided or close-minded; I want to see what you think, because I might be totally wrong.
Sorry for the longer than usual post.

you have a good point but some people do write short messages just to up their post count so maybe they can be disposalled?

Rather have an empty, then a spammed forum.
If you see posts without any real content, please continue disposaling them like you did before. Eventually, those whose post got disposal'd will eventually realise his error and start posting more complex answers, too.
Version 1.10 out now!
Version 1.02 out now!
Version 1.22 out now!
Return (String) System.getNewsOfTheDay();
Barely active, expect slow responses. If at all.

I just personally think that we don't have any serious discussion here, simply because people are not ready. That is why I don't want disposal everything, as that encourages silent community, which I don't want.

Thing is, we don't have the "age" required for those discussions, thus the speed of "realization". New people are joining everyday, so we can't teach everyone, that is nearly impossible, as we are not the parents that should be teaching by punishing.

agree with alblaka - trash it (is this to short now? guess not, was my opinion, not a feeling, but maybe...)

lol
