Hello all! I've loved Little fighters since the second version. I've played all the mods (well most of them) and I have always wanted to make my own character. For years now I've actuallybeen on and off with trying out spriting and coding on all sorts of characters and now i'm creating my very first character from the popular MMORPG Vindictus (or Mabinogi Heroes). Here is a Lann in a casual outfit (since spriting armor for me is a pain) equipped with twin swords. this is what i have so far and i'm also doing this from scratch for the most part. Please tell me your opinions on him and constructive criticism. Using Photoshop and Ms Paint.

Welcome Tevicomaster,
Good to see people who are motivated to make sprites ![:) :)](https://lf-empire.de/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif) and also chars.
Do you have more sprites? If yes, then you can also showcase them by opening sprite thread in sprite forum. Then we could even help you to improve, of course, you need to put some effort
Edit: Hajime no ippo, he is cool, i like how he fights, that char from that anime.

Yep, tutorials is not enough, you also need to know about shapes, to know more about drawing, it depends on what are you like to draw/paint, is it human, animal, background or mechanical stuff.
If you need help, feel free to pm me

Huh, EXG9 didn't say anything about the sprite. :P
I'll be more on that. You are trying to make a LF2 character. Usually their sheets have the 79-79 brackets, yours kinda have a bigger height. They are chibi-like so they have wider and tinier bodies. Also i would advise to make your first character on another one. What do i mean by that you may ask? Well, It's fairly easier really. You get a character sheet, bat for example(usually he's the base everyone's using, dunno why :P) and just overlay him with new colours and add something different, like a scarf and change the hair a bit or so. It would be great if you see some tutorials and see the sprites from the sprite section. If you have done that, then you should study them bit by bit. When you get at some level with the LF2 proportions you can even take a sprite you like from someone and start making him a character(well, that's what i did and i learned a lot ![:) :)](https://lf-empire.de/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif) ).
Till you get there just practice more LF2 proportions(I'm still stuck with that part :P).
Aside of criticism i have to say that you do have something good in your sprite. I like the swords. :3
Oh, and also you say you have Photoshop. You should use the brush tool because of it's anti-aliasing.
example:
Yeah, good luck and stuff.
EDIT: V Yeah, i guess.

I think you meant should NOT use the brush tool...
Anyway: try to make the character LF2-styled. In this case, the character looks too thin and too long compared to LF2 characters. But it might be character's design (I don't know the MMORPG..)

His sprite is sharp and Davis is kinda more blending in the background. I learned that when i started spriting.

Thank-you Bla bla bla 44,
I'm starting to redo the sprite sheet using templates to try and get the proportions down, and also I'm headinh back to the spriting tutorial section and read up on proportions and shading. Also, the advice about using brush tool with anti-aliasing can't seem to find it in the version of Photoshop i'm using ( C3 currently)
