Background: Snowhill island
#1
ABOUT:
i was motivated to do a BG after seeing DesignHeaven's work and here is the result, nothing too fancy basically Queen's island without all the lava and with a little extra snow.. i call it Snow hill island.

PREVIEW:

DOWNLOAD: Snowhill island

INSTALLATION:
> extract si.rar and place the "si folder" in \bg\sys.
>> paste this line in the data.txt file under <background>

  id: 20    file: bg\sys\si\bg.dat

Snowhill island (extended)
this can be used as a stage instead of Queens island, in your data.txt file replace:
id: 6    file: bg\sys\qi\bg.dat
with:
id: 6    file: bg\sys\si\bg.dat
"I'm the president of the shadow government
The grand governor of the federal reserve
Public enemy of the society
The one you cannot see the thirty three degree"

Beautiful.
Can you make a version that is compatible with original queen's island data? so i can add it to my original lf2 like a texture pack?

Whoa nice! Really good idea, I like the completely different atmosphere this bg has, compared to Queens Island.

I like it! The bumps on the ground are kind of big and wide through the z-axis. That makes one expect you'd get on top of the bumps if you move into them, although this isn't really the case with LF2.

It's cool, I like it.

2 things I'd look into:
- the bumps are pretty big, I think a minor size reduction would make it better
- the edge looks a bit pixelated. Could use some smoothening in my opinion

Overall: good job!

PS. we need a similar background for LF2 extended. Would you be okay with us using the background if we were to give you full credit? (if the others agree, that is)

i reduced the bumps size, as for the edge i did a minor edit but its still pixelated i didn't want to smoothen it too much because that will leave dirty black pixels in game.. see if its any better:

It's kinda worse? Because now there are dark "dirty pixels".
You could try filling the black areas with the snow-color, then apply your smoothening (?), then swap out the snow-color with black again.
That way the "dirty pixels" will be some combination of the brown- and the snow-color, making it seem less pixelated ingame.

Edit: @↓ yea that's kind of the point. What else do you want the color to be, white? Not sure what you mean.
The temporary color swap is used to create some fake-opacity, since LF2 can't display 50% opacity for example.

I couldn't compare the edges because I didn't notice it beforehand, and the image is replaced already. But the edge looks fine to me. The bumps are okay now. Keep this up! XD

Edit: @^, good eye there lol. Wouldn't the black pixels not appear in the game though? You know black is left out off images when they're rendered in LF2.

Edit 2: p.s it kinda still looks better in smoothness than LF2's Queen's:

No harm in doing it better still XD

Edit 3: White might work out actually :P. Would blend with the snow. There wasn't really a point to convey. Just conversing.
