when i open photoshop and sprite then save it it saves with pdf why does that happen?

Well I checked up this tutorial, and I actually can't seem to do it. I wasted my time downloading Gimp and Photo filitre, I'm a little frustrated.

I followed it exactly, the only problem I am having is with GIMP. I can get the character transparent, but then when I want to put it on the frozen sprite it basically also carries over bits of the background - so the characters frozen in it and the transparency nice, but there is some white square round him :/.

In paint you have that feature where you can make the picture transparent to certain backgrounds. Does anyone have a clue to how I can do that in GIMP.
The alternative solution I've come up with is taking the transparent picture and putting it in paint and doing it there, but it consumes some time for how many characters I wish to do. Anyone got any solutions? Would be appreciated.

i was wondering if anyone could make "Hiei" from Yu Yu Hakusho
i know there's already a Hiei but the only one there is,is on Lf2.global and i wasnt able to install him into my LF. So if you can,please publish a Hiei little fighter character.

sorry ähmmm when you don't know what i mean i mean the chars sprite for example: AngelAdam is movin to right but when i am want to move to the left then he still be in right side but i move to the left this not funny! Help me how do i can create Mirror sprite's

I'm making a representative character out of woody, but I can't manage to color his eyes green on his face pic :/ It turns out really weird if I try. Could someone help me? The face pic I have is in the attachment.

How do you use the burner tool in GIMP

when I click on the burner and try to use it doesnt do anything. If you use gimp or might know whats causing this please post it in this thread. Also My other tools aren't working. Please help!

Nvm... all u have to do is go to image, then mode, the RGB, sumtin like tht.

I just started trying to edit sprites yesterday, and all the colors look perfect but when i use colors on a templates sprite the colors will get pretty messed up heres an example :/

Hi everybody,

I'm new at Spriting and I wanted to ask you (more experienced spriters) about the shading effect. What is the best program used to create this effect ?
I've already started a char by redrawing Template lines and painting it's shirt, skin and trousers. But that's what I got so far. I want now to move to the next step, which I guess it's the shading effect. I took the default colors I used to paint the shirt, the skin and the trousers and from those I made 6 extra colours (3 darker and 3 lighter) by changing the luminance (?) item.
So I ask again... Is there any program that makes this easier ? Or I should take each color I made from the defaults and paint manually ?

PS: I have Paint + PhotoFiltre. Already download GIMP but didn't know how to use it well.

PS2: I found an effect (Gradient (?)) in PF that is similar to shading, but it was totally horizontal (darker <- lighter) and not really-really like shading. It is the lighter color (white) from right-side to the darker color (black) on the left-side.
