I recall a few modnotices that simply contain "lol" as reason/content. So modnotices are also a way of letting the user know about how a mod thinks of the post or the content of that post, if a reply would be too short or too off-topic.

which one should still consider as spam - in this case modnotice spam
giving mods a highly unfair advantage and turning them into very bad examples for other users
one could also call it abusing power

also these are the kind of things you do not want to see in a possible index shoutbox; the reason we shall not have one - why? because only you guys are allowed to have fun on here? i dont get it
(and nobody ever considers such features to be optional for every user either; black or white ....)

That's kinda the function of the "Thank button", amirite?

For me it's only annoying when a mod leaves you a modnotice and the only way to reply is to either edit your post or double-post. In that case, it would be much simpler if the mod left a normal reply.
