Okay, being buried alive, but being able to live on, while you have to bare un... bareable pain. Like getting cut each mm of your body with a glowing, rusty knife.

Okay, anyway, the most painful death is always related to having suffering. Usually emotional/mental/spiritual is the most painful, in the extreme form that is.

But if you think about it, death is not painful. It is the suffering before death that is painful. Or if you believe there's an afterlife, the suffering in the afterlife AFTER death can also be painful, but it is not during death.
