LF2 crashes

If Empirefantasy right has, for You better will be to replace id data. How? In first lines set You every id with char's balls, later id your char, and at last id weapons. Why that? Because char's balls files are the most size and for lf2 programm better is first load biggest files. And that same weapon files is the smaller size. Of course this method is the best for lf2 with many ids

one solution remove some weapons bg and chars

here is data.txt(attached), the lines starting with # are commented(they won't be load in the game). To load that characters just remove # from the line.

And if anyone can sort the problem in data.txt, please, let me know. But according to me there will not be any issue in this file as all the ids are unique.

am not much of a dc guy but isn't this wrong?? to have 2 things with the same id?? i know the game used to crash for me when i tested frozen back in the day and i had gave him the same id as another bg so this might be one of the things causing the crash?

found another one:

this must be what caused the crash cuz in the crash screenshot u posted i saw "pendzik" selected in the selection menu..

you are trying to run lf2 with flippin 299 objects (and more when considering the uncommented ones)
the old limit was 100 - i don't actually know how far it has been expanded
but you seriously need to cut that down until it works again

and 34 backgrounds is a whole lot too - i don't know the limit there but you should try to load with the original amount

also background ids have no meaning whatsoever (knowing that the 400 looks a bit odd - maybe it gets caught up on that when loading the bg list in game)

-try to reduce object amount until it works
-try to reduce bg amount until it works
-try with two digit only ids for bgs

the issue must lie somewhere among those three

I think it's due to less RAM. Check the task manager while loading the game to check the problem.

I am running the game on system which has 8 GB RAM. RAM is not an issue here. I tried it again after removing few backgrounds, weapons. Now, it is loading successfully but as I click Fight to start the game in VS mode it crashes :(

Do you select "Random"? In case you do, it's likely to crash as some IDs are missing in data.txt (for example id: 4). The procedure that picks the random chars simply chooses a number from a set and if that id is not available in data.txt, the game ragequits.

You have to have atleast 8 ids from the 1-29 ID range. LF2 chooses the type 0 chars of id 1~29 as random chars.
