wow great job, progress is very good, this looks promising..
ok, now for the sprites:
the basic sprite is good, breathing is fine,
walking is good, running is the best, i really like it...
defend looks a little wierd, i mean the pose,
stop running is ok axcept for the hends are little messed up,
jump is good, but the first 2 frames needs fixing.
again, great job ;)
btw, in what size do you make the sprite?

actualy i like this character too, its good to see that some hae been trying to make good use of already existing characters :)

Defend doesn't look too stable, imo. I don't know how well one could hold balance on one foot while being hit by punches/kicks/projectiles :p

Having both feet on the ground seems essential. Other than that, great job!

OMG LOVE that fluid animation cycle, right there! :D
Idk about the last bit though, the legs would be spread apart in real life. I know you want the character to go back to the idle pose but it looks a bit awk to me. Maybe if he lands in a crouched down position and then gets back up it would make more sense.

edit) thats not what i meant. The last 4 frames im have a problem with. ~it just looks awkward.
instead of having him land like that make him land with his legs spread apart or something (airborne) then extend the duration of his "crouching" as he's getting up

the final flip to get up should either push him further in the x axis, or be lower and faster (?)

backtracking, the running doesn't look natural. try running with your arms static like that and you'd find it kind of difficult (and kind of awkward). imo if the right arm has a little swing it would be more natural, the left arm in that position is possible but odd if it's not shielding him from anything.

+1 to the defend not looking stable

Ok I will increase the "dvx:" a bit but I can't understand what you meant with his last 4 sprites, maybe draw it roughly and show it, please.

I think the running sprites are good :p

And in desperate need of a base(special one) for defend.

Just gather all defense frames from the original lf2 characters and combine what you like? I think some of them are pretty special, like Mark or Dennis.
